Chapter 7 Contd
Kushi could barely open her eyes. She was trying hard to see where she was and she suddenly felt the comfy bed she was sleeping on. She felt around looking for her cell phone and couldn't find it. She finally opened her eyes. Suddenly it all came back to her. She remembered the night before. She realized she was at the hotel. Then suddenly she remembered her midnight guest. Arnav. She looked around her bed and saw no sign of him. She managed to finally get out of bed. Her head was spinning, but she had to find her phone. Jiji would be waiting for her call.

Arnav had woken up at 5 am. He had opened his eyes to realize where he was. He looked at the beautiful woman that lay on the bed and he smiled. He wanted to wake up every morning to her face. He finally got out of the chair and decided to wash up. His Kurta was back from the cleaners by 6 am and he got dressed. After ordering some coffee he decided that he was going to wait until Kushi woke up to discuss everything. So he went downstairs to his jeep and grabbed the bag of clothes he always kept in there for emergencies and booked the adjoining suite to Kushi's. He knew how traditional she was and he didn't want to shower in her room. Although it did help that both the suites were connected with a door, so he had access to her room if she needed him.
He decided to jump in the shower when he suddenly heard her anklets tinkling from the other room. He ran through the door to check on her and saw her looking around for something. She didn't hear him come in and neither did he realize that he was not wearing a shirt.
"What are you looking for?" he asked her.
She looked up and wondered where the voice was coming from. Suddenly she noticed him standing at a door which she had not known was there before. He didn't even have a shirt on as he leaned on the door frame looking at her.
"YOU!!!??!!!"
"Yes me. So what are you looking for?"
"Why are you still here?? And where did that door come from?? And where the hell is my phone??"
"I'm still here because you had too much to drink last night and I wanted to make sure your ok. The door has always been here and it connects to my room. And your phone is under your pillow" he said with no expression on his face
"I need to call Payal and you need to get out of my room now! Oh god I already have a splitting headache and this is just too much"
"Kushi relax. I'll order some breakfast and you can go have a shower"
"NO!! Leave my room now god damn it!" she yelled back at him. She was feeling queasy and thought she would throw up any minute.
"Kushi we need to talk" he said calmly. He knew she would put up a fight. But he wasn't going to give up easily. He was going to do whatever it took to get through to her.
"Not now!" she suddenly said running to the bathroom feeling sick.
He ran after her and saw her bent over the sink about to throw up again. He walked over and held back her hair while putting his hand on her forehead to hold her head back. She threw up again and he opened the faucet. She finally looked up at her with tears in her eyes. Once she was done, he walked out of the room allowing her to wash up.
"I don't know what wrong with me" after she had cleaned up after herself she said unaware of what was going on with her body. She walked out of the bathroom with a splitting headache looking very disheveled.
"It's good that your getting it out of your system. Do you think your up for a shower? It would make you feel better" he said looking at her from across the room.
"Mmm.. Yeah I think so" she said in a small voice. She did not want him there with her, but for some reason, it was comforting to know that he was right next to her.
"Ok then, jump into the shower. I'll order some breakfast and coffee for you. You will feel a lot better after you have had something to eat"
"I need help with this though" she said looking at her Choli. She knew that there was no way she was going to be able to get the top off unless she had someone to help her.
"Ok turn around" he said and moved closer to her.
"Why are you here?" she asked him in a slow voice
"Because you weren't feeling well and I wanted to make sure your ok" he said taking the knot apart on her top.
"But why does it matter to you? You hate me and yet your here" she told him
He continued pulling the string of fabric off her outfit with trembling fingers. He felt an animal stir in him and he was trying his best to hold back.
"Because I do care about you. And I don't hate you Kushi"
"But what about all the things you've done? If you care about someone, you would not hurt them the way you have hurt me" she said sounding angry.
"Do you like your bangles?" he asked her calmly as he continued pulling the string of fabric off her top
"What are you talking about?" she asked him confused.
"Look at the bangles on your arms Kushi" he told her
Kushi looked down to realize that she was not wearing the bangles she had put on last night, but she had on a pair of bangles that matched her earrings, necklace and mankeeth that she still had on.
"I don't understand" she said as he pulled off the final knot off the choli and gently turned her towards him. If she moved around even an inch her top would come off instantly she realized, so she clutched her arms on her chest and turned towards him. She looked up at him still looking confused with tears in her eyes waiting for an explanation.
"I put those on you last night while you were asleep" he told her softly looking at her.
"Why? And I didn't know the set came with bangles" she said
"They didn't. I had the set made to match the bangles Kushi. I had them made for you. It was supposed to be your gift for your 21st birthday"
"I don't understand" she said
"I wanted to give it to you along with the bangles. You are wearing my mother's bangles Kushi. The bangles that she left for my wife. And I want you to have them"
She was more confused than ever. She didn't know what to do except to remove the bangles.
"No. Don't take them off. At least not yet" he told her stopping her from taking the jewellery off.
"Don't you understand Kushi?" He asked her as she continued to listen to him in stunned silence. She turned her face away from him refusing to look at him in anyways.
"These are for you Kushi. Only for you. Because I don't want anyone else to have them" he said softly.
He leaned over and kissed her neck gently. He couldn't resist. He then turned her back to him pushing her hair over her shoulder and took of the necklace off and laid it on the coffee table as he proceeded to gently remove the earring and mankeeth as well. He kissed the back of her neck and moved over to her ear.
"It has always been you Kushi. I am so sorry I didn't tell you sooner. But I was confused. And I was lost. When I finally realized it, I managed to mess it up. But this time I won't. This time I will explain everything to you. The bangles are meant for you Kushi Kumari Gupta, because Amma left them for her bahu. And fate has brought us together. Until you accept my proposal, I will not leave your side. I will do whatever it takes to make this right" he said before walking away to his room leaving her there standing. He could not stand it anymore. He wanted to ravage her and make her his forever. But he respected her and loved her. He will not do anything to make her feel uncomfortable even if it mean that he would need to have a cold shower every time she came next to him. "God damn it!" he cursed himself as he walked into his bathroom.

Kushi stood their looking at her arms. The bangles were beautiful. And she realized what it mean to him to give them to her. She wanted to hate him so much, but she couldn't. He was the one that she had always wanted and she was too afraid to admit it to herself. He had finally given himself up to her and she didn't know what to do.
What hurt her the most was that as much as she loved him, she didn't trust him enough to believe that he had meant what he had said. She needed time to get away from all of this. She knew that he would follow her where ever she went. She walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind her. She took off all her clothes except for the bangles and got in the shower. A hot shower was just what she needed to get her head all cleared up. She stood their thinking of what had happened. She looked at her arms again to admire the bangles and she touched them as she thought of what they symbolized. It was a proposal.
Most men proposed with a diamond ring and flowers accompanied by some romantic moment. He had done it while she was passed out with his mother's bangles. But then again she wasn't surprised. After all, it was Arnav Singe Raizada. He always did things his own way she thought and smiled.
She stood there for 20 minutes more trying to figure out what she was going to do next. First she neeeded to find out what had happened with Abhay. She needed to know why he had done what he had done. She decided that she will take it from there. She got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around herself. She found her phone and made a call to Abhay. She needed to speak to him in person. She needed Arnav there too as well. She knew that if anything, they were not going to lie to her anymore. She will not let them lie to her she thought as she proceeded to lock the connecting door and walked over to her suitcase to pick something to wear.
Hope you enjoy and please comment. I know many of you want to know what happens with Abhay and Anjali. Hang in there. It's coming. I just wanted to give our leads some time alone. I see Arnav as a very misunderstood person and hence him losing his cool all the time. But he's a very passionate man too! And Kushi remains the stubborn woman she is. It seems like these two have finally understood what they feel for each other. But that's not going to be enough to make this work. They need to trust each other too and that's something that I want to focus on. Ultimately, this is about how all the different emotions we ourselves feel in our relationships. We all make mistakes and hurt the people that we love, but the question is how do we move on from that?? How do we learn to love a person for all their faults and trust each other despite what has happened in the past..
