Tarana Raja is on a professional high
Tarana Raja is on a high these days. She is not drinking but she is kicked about her "super happening" professional life. Yes, she impresses everyone with her spirited performance as Neha in Balaji's Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and now she is all set to enchant hearts with her role in the upcoming movie Jodi Breakers. The movie stars R Madhavan and Bipasha Basu in the lead.
"The film is basically about Maddy (Madhavan) who is an expert in breaking up couples. He is hired by Bipasha Basu's father to wreck her relationship with somebody but ends up falling in love with her," informs Tarana.
Furthermore, a true professional as she is, Tarana has no problem to share less screen space when compared to other actors in the film. "After all, I am just a friend (along with Mazher Sayed and Omi Vaidya). I believe a lot depends on how the director presents you. I was there in only one scene in Farhan Akthar's Karthik vs Karthik, but it was such an important sequence that it was incorporated in the promo, what more can I ask for?" Tarana goes on to say.
Apart from the above flicks, Tarana has also been a part of Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Yash Raj's Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. "Pyaar ke… marked my debut in the world of cinema and it is still being aired in different channels. So it increases my visibility. Furthermore, Laagi… did not work despite having a big star cast (Rani Mukerji,Abhishek Bachchan and Konkana Sen Sharma). I guess the audience just did not like it."
Hmm…Tarana sounds very practical. Impressive. Now, coming back to Sony's super popular show Bade Achhe, she says, "People like the onscreen chemistry between me and Jai Kalra (Vikram Shergill) because we are so comfortable with each other. We are just like brother and sister. I am also good friends with Sumona Chakravarti (Natasha) and Eva Grover (Niharika). And Ram Kapoor (Ram) eats all my food (laughs). It's great fun on the sets."
Finally, Tarana says that people at Balaji are not task-masters and allow enough free space. "If I have some other assignment other than Bade Acche… then they always let me off early. So, there is no issue at all."
