Lets discuss on this topic. Does having your parents in the same industry either as an actor or actress gives an advantage to the newcomers compared to the random new comers who are fresh with not acting or family background?

In my point if view, it certainly is. Many actors or actress are usually introduced as the children of so and so and they get an extra coverage and advantage. For example, Atharva. He is only one movie old and even before he started acting, the hype was surrounding him since he was the son of Murali. The same was for Radha's daughter Krithika. So what is your opinion on this? 😊

Nice post! Definately having parents in the industry is the golden key to open doors in the industry...The star kids have an added advantage over the struggling talented wannabies.Directors spot them easily unlike the aspiring actors .Star kids already have godfathers who would promote them. Preferential treatment would be meted out to them.In spite of the glamour tag and famous star kid tag attached it takes sheer talent and hard work to survive...Times have changed ...Having a star name doesn't rake in big bucks all the time...Audiences have changed...So in my opinion ultimately if star kids are not talented they can fade away into oblivion.

Surya is certainly a good example for this. He worked his way to where he is now despite being the son of veteran actor Sivakumar that people now says Sivakumar is Surya's father. In fact many have came in the industry as so and so's children and some how they go missing after some time.

Agree , some do make it because of their sheer talent like the actor u mentioned...mal cine industry stars sons have not made it except for Sreenivasan's son ...Recently Fazal's son and Mammooty's son are coming into the field...long run who knows if they remain in the limelight or disappear like the shooting stars..Even not all sons of veteran stars in Bollywood have made it also.

Nice post !

Already having parents in the industry is a major plus point for the star kids. They don't have to struggle as much to even get a first movie, plus the star kids do get a lot of exposure through media coverage.

However, to remain in the field one must have talent and work hard. Out of the really popular actors, I can list Vijay and Surya, who did have the background, but overall their success is through their hard work. We do have star kids that have made a name for themselves, as well as those that faded away. Having a star parent doesn't guarantee success for the star kid.

I have to agree that actors and actresses whose parents are in the film industry have a really big advantage. There are some really great actors and talent out there but they do not get the big films under the big banners that usually go to the popular children...we have seen this many times and there are new films coming out with new actors whose parents are/were in the industry.

Talent, Appearance, Popularity and Luck all matter.

One actor that i can pick from Bollywood who is still surviving with the father's name is Abhishek. Somehow most of his movies are flops and yet he is still surviving as the son of Amitabh. On the other hand, Ranbir who is from the Kapoor family is doing justice and his recent Rockstar was a prove to his hardwork. Simbu initially did had the back up of TR eventually naming his son Little Super Star but i think Simbhu is also finally realizing that all this is not going to be enough and he has to work to get to the top. At times, i feel the real talented ones are overshadowed by the ones who is famous due to their family background.

Having parents in the same industry is big advantage for the star kids to enter into the cine field easily. But for succeding in this field is based on their talents. Vijay, Surya, Dhanush, Simbhu has enter into the film industry easily because their parents are in the same industry but the main reason for them to succed in this field till now is only based on their talent.

But the sad part is there are more true talents who do not have the parents in the film industry are still trying to enter into the film industry but they found difficulties in entering into the field . This is becuase they don't have parents or relatives in the same field. If those people get a chance they will definetly become one of the top actors, directors, or etc.
