Sensuousness returns to TV with 'Virasaat'

Rachna Kanwar

Some of the biggest names of Indian television who were missing from the scene for a long time are soon going to be back with a bang.

Sangita Ghosh, Rohit Roy, Aman Verma and Amarr Upadhyay will all be seen on Star Plus in a Ravi Chopra's 'Viraasat- Nafrat Ke Khel Mein, Do Dilon Ki Chahat'. It is a story of two warring families, Lambas and Kharbandas.

Coming from the B.R. Films stable, 'Viraasat' is a family drama that will replace 'Miilee'. 'Viraasat' will tell the story of a couple in love, Rahul Lamba, played by Rohit Roy and Priyanka Kharbanda, played by Sangita Ghosh. The two lovebirds face the opposition of their warring families a la Romeo and Juliet. According to some reports, they have done some really sensuous scenes together.

Sangita was last seen hosting 'Nach Baliye' last year while Rohit is currently hosting 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa-Ek Main Aur Ek Tu'. Aman Verma would be seen in a negative character and he seems quite happy with his role, "It is a complete negative character. I am thoroughly enjoying it as I love doing different kinds of roles." His last assignment was as a host of 'Indian Idol Series 2'.

Amarr seems equally gung-ho about his character, "Virasat is truly rocking. I play Sangita's brother who is a self-righteous municipal commissioner; basically a good guy. She gets married to Rohit who comes from the rival family. Initially I am not a part of the rivalry but I am instigated into it. It is a great role, watch out!"
