vegetables can also give us that nutrition which non veg food gives!

No, don't say that! It is your personal choice. Unless your instincts stop you, why would you stop? Every one has to make their own journey..it's the same way that you can't force a Brahmin to eat non-veg diet and you can't look down upon him. Your faith allows and plus you never had any reason to stop meat, so enjoy what you eat...😛

I don't know how could you say it's a matter of health. So, that means veg. people don't fall sick. I agree, in some cases non-veg food might have caused some diseases. But over-all if you see that's very very minor, or people would have stopped eating non-veg.

But the real body strength comes from the animal protien, which is essential. No one can argue on that. Doctors always recommend animal protien for small children, it helps building the body in the primary stage. Practicing veg. food at a later stage of life might be good(for those have high cholesterol).

If someone takes non-veg food, I don't see he is doing anything wrong. And by choice if someone takes veg. food, that's also fine.

I am just curious, how many of you will stop it? Doesn't matter if you are christain, Muslim, Hindu, or Sikh, what would you do?

Look, religion and politics are something which you can keep arguing. Religion is a matter of belief and it's man-made, since there is no witness and God would never come down to tell us the facts. Previous days people were very religious(God-fear kind), but now we remember him only when we need his support. It is becoming a matter of convenience and sometimes showy too. Slowly people are adopting things according to their own convenience and wish, modified from what was believed earlier. I know lot of Brahmins who eat non-veg conveniently.

My answer would be, if in my religion some thing that's logically sound and concrete tells me today to stay away from non-veg, I would follow that. And I think many would do that too. Actually it would have been passed to me through my ancestors.

I'm a very staunch vegetarian.....I even dont take garlic, mushrooms and eggs.....I'm not a non-vegetarian because its forbidden in my caste...I'm a brahmin, and am not supposed to consume meat or flesh of any sort!!I have been brought up without being fed non veg,and now even if anyone offers me, I woudl refuse to take it...I feel nauseated by the smell, so I cant eat with my friends who eat meat!

And also being an animal lover is an incentive. You have explained the trauma and the suffering inflicted on the animals beautifully.👏So not going to add more about that

As for eating a balanced diet,I think most of the required proteins is available in vegetarian substitutes like soya milk etc...And many are going the vegetarian way these days as apparently the meat of some anuimals causes diseases in the long run(correct me if I'm wrong...I vaguely remember reading something like this sometime back)

yaar my case is exactly the same as yours 😊 im a true veggie all the way, as being brahmin it is in the rules of my life. i am nauseated with the smell of non-veg foods aswell.

it would be impossible for me to eat meat, as it's against my religion. i've never tried chicken or fish or mutton or any other meat...which might surprise a lot of people. living in a place like america, it's hard not to notice all the non-veg going on around here. especially if you're at school...at lunch, the whole place smells like meat and junk food and fast food and just about aLL of that eatable stuff. so we just have to get used to that.

now, as for the non-vegetarians, it's their choice whether or not they want to eat meat. personally, as a veggie, i am thankful to non-veggies. if it weren't for them, there would be overpopulation of species, and also there would be less veggies to eat.

cheers,
himani

hey i did not mean that i mean't that a man leving the non veg food can also live a healthy life!without any gyms etc..
there can be many possibilities for a person to get sick through non veg but never with healthy food
No body is veg or non veg by birth it's only the choice of the people wheather they make a right choice or a wrong one
no body can manipulate a person to eat food as one wants it's only a matter of choice and only choice
after all i live n a democratic country!!

so plz don't take my post at heart dude!!! 😉
