RANVEER mimicks Aamir,too cheeky for his own good?

One-film-old Ranveer Singh perhaps fancies himself to be a David, what with his taking potshots at the Goliaths of the industry.

At an event to launch Phantom Productions' Lootera, co-starring Sonakshi Sinha, the bratty actor took on two of the biggest Khans in the industry - Aamir and Salman and ensured he had the media lapping up every moment of his act.

It started with Ranveer sporting a look from the film. In his high-waisted pants, he looked straight out of a 50s film. The actor however had a different era in mind. "Now on, I will only wear my pants over my tummy, like Aamir Khan," he said. It did not stop at that.

It did not stop at that. When someone from media requested him to say something about Sonakshi, Ranveer said that he first saw the trailer of Dabangg on youtube and immediately rattled off the famous dialogue, Thappad se dar nahi lagta sahab, pyaar se dar lagta hai. He then proceeded to mimic Salman's signature strut, using up all of the stage or the next few minutes. All Sonakshi could do was turn away in embarrassment.

Producers Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl and his director Vikramaditya Motwane wisely didn't allow him to talk much after that.

Lootera is a classic love story, set in the 1950s. Not only is this the first time Ranveer and Sonakshi have been paired on-screen, but it is also the first venture of Phantom Production House, launched by directors Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl.

The film will be shot in Bengal. The talented Amit Trivedi has been working hard to ensure that he gets the mood of the period right in the film score.
