Why Mrunal lost out?
It seems the decision on whom to cast as Manav was not an easy one. Mrunal Jain who was a strong contender for the older Manav part somehow did not inspire confidence during a mock-shoot with co-star Ankita Lokhande. According to an insider, he literally shivered and trembled through most of it. Apparently, he was rather intimidated by her.
Some of the other choices also fizzled out because they did not want to be seen playing an older character when they are young. "I really don't understand what the problem in playing an older character is. I don't think it ever harms an actor's image or popularity," says Hiten Tejwani who made a dramatic entry in Pavitra Rishta on Monday. Meanwhile, Ankita says she is kicked to have an experienced and talented actor like Hiten as her co-star. "I am sure our chemistry will prove to be a winning one," she adds.
