my second point,

NOW, this is getting too much……WHAT IS IT THAT WE EXPECT OUT OF THIS WOMAN ??????Everything is censured, everything is wrong, then what is right???????....so when she wore indian, three years ago, she came in for severe flak....when she wears quasi indian, she yet comes for flak....and when she goes full western, we YET dont cut her any flak........😕......she has certainly shown improvement and this year she looked absolutely gorgeous,sleek and slender, and was quite well dressed....wouldnt we ever acknowledge that ash was well dressed for once?????or would we always keep finding some fault or the other?????now if she dons a saree next year, would we give her full marks???perhaps no!!..

I agree with you 100% Buffie~! I'm so glad that someone brought this up.

You know what I am sooo tired of hearing that indian woman SHOULD wear sarees all the times at these kinds of occasions because that's what looks best on them~! Of course I have nothing against sarees (being a huge fan of indian fashion) but I think its kinda like sterotyping indian woman saying that they have to wear a saree to every occasion.

Fashion is about trying new things not sticking to one thing for a long period of time. That's what makes fashion so versatile and fun!

As for what this Shobhaa De lady is saying she obviously knows nothing about fashion. 🤬

I think Ash looked stunning in her Armani and Roberto Cavalli outfits! Y'know some people would kill just to wear some of those outfits! I know I would! 👍🏼

And when Ash did wear indian attire to Cannes back in 2003 it was a diaster~!

I'm sorry but if you're going to wear indian clothes to an event like Cannes you should at least wear some NICE indian clothes! 🥱

As as you can see Indian woman can pull off Western outfits~! This Shobhaa De lady just doesn't know what she is talking about.

But don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying that Ash or any other indian actress should only wear western outfits. They can wear indian clothes as long as they're nice and from India's best designers. India has a LOT of good fashion designers, just look at India Fashion Week and you'll know what I mean~! 😉

err.. i think ash looks better this year not because the clothes she wore were better than before but because she has lost oodles of weight...i bet she can even carry off an indian-ish dress with her present weight..

to some extent i agree with her that they shud wear indian clothes bcoz they are beautiful but then again its totally up to them what they want to wear. i live in UK and i only wear indian clothes at weddings/parties or during northa.

yaar, seedhi see baat hai. you shld wear what looks good on you. if that's indian, so be it. if it's western, that's fine too. if it's some kind of a yahoo hat, well, go for it. and if looking good is not your wont, then maybe the total head-cover might do the trick? 😛

as for fashion and all that jazz, nothing wrong with a bit of flair- u cant go around looking like you stepped outa one of those steamy Regency Era romance novels. theek hai. maybe u can, if u have Don Juan hanging around giving u the glad-eye, waiting to whirl u around in the latest rain-dance style. but whatever, u cant let fashion make a total jack-ass out of u. if the skimpiest bikini is the in-thing these hot nights but u have an extra tire or two that sticks out of the trunk thanks to all those luscious mangoes u might have sucked on, perhaps best if u did not inflict those ugly sights on the rest of humanity. unless u wanted to pay for the eye job. 😆

fwiw, whatever is wrong with Priety? not that she has much to work with anyway, but havent we still learned to make the most out of a bad situation? that ridiculous red dress is like that red traffic light. makes u stop, look around and reverse direction. totally garrish. yaar, idea is to hide ur fault lines, not reveal them. 😉

ok now on to desi fashions in general. what to say? most times, the centre of gravity is lower than it shld be. matlab? simple! perhaps stay away from western clothes because these might not put those rock-bottom assets in a nice light. if u gotta show ur assets, stick to gold. better investment these days anyway with commodity prices doing what they have. 😆 😆

You Know its not about carrying western clothes.Our Indian girls do look prety in them.But at a festival like cannes it is the best oppurtunity to showcase your country.When Ash and priety are dressing up as if they havent heard of india.Its not about wether they look pretty or not .Its wether they have the right attitude and frankly speaking Ash and Priety they both were in bad Taste.Like shobbha said they could have worn sexy saris and make A statement that they are proud to be indians.Who knows many cpould have mistaken them to be Hollywood Stars?? 🤢
