Kareena Kapoor- Salman's biggest challenge today?

While one waits to see how soon does RA.ONE break BODYGUARD collections of 140 crores, film's leading lady Kareena Kapoor can be assured of one thing at the least that now she is the only actor (whether male or female) to have as many as four movies to her credit that have made over 100 crores.

"Today the record is held by Salman Khan who has three of his films net over 100 crores - BODYGUARD, DABANGG and READY. Aamir Khan has two (3 IDIOTS and GHAJINI), Asin has two (READY, GHAJINI), Ajay Devgn has two (GOLMAAL RETURNS, SINGHAM) while Shahrukh too would soon be having one (RA.ONE) by end of this week," says a trade expert, "However Kareena would now hold the record for maximum centuries with 3 IDIOTS, BODYGUARD, GOLMAAL RETURNS and now RA.ONE."


"Even though for an interim time period, one could well say that Kareena has surpassed Salman," quips an industry insider, "After all she has more centuries to her name than Salman. It is a different matter though that the record would be challenged once Salman arrives with EK THA TIGER next Eid. That film is bound to cross 100 crores by all means."

"All of this is academic though since Kareena's AGENT VINOD (with Saif Ali Khan) will release before EK THA TIGER and could well make it five in a row for her," the insider continues, "While Salman's DABANGG 2 would further heat up the competition, Kareena's DHUAAN (with Aamir Khan) is a definite 100 crores plus film as well. It looks like next year competition would be mainly between Salman and Kareena more than anyone else. There are going to be centuries galore."

When contacted, Kareena was expectedly chilled out about the collections that RA.ONE has garnered (while being next only to RA.ONE) and chose to take a diplomatic stance, "Yes, RA.ONE is doing great guns and that's great because we can see it is going to cross 100 crores. If there is right energy put into making a film, it is bound to do great business."

She is just a passenger of those films, not the driver, take the passenger out, or replace her with someone else, those films would still cross 100 crores.

Kareena's presence and the movies hitting the jackpot have no relation whatsover.

I would say the movie became a hit 'inspite' of Kareena. Same for Asin.
