Gulaal the great doing something wrong..for the person who was so right for her...and ultimately her wrong decision was turned into the most right one by her Mr. Right!

Sorry for being so delayed with this reply Srushee - but while I'm in part agreement with your argument, the latter part especially - I'm not all in for the former bit. So technically, IMO, even if Gulaal got her brainwave from 'Kesar's so posed proposal for a DV' - I believe it would be very much her decision, more than anyone else. In fact, to me, the fact that she would actually pick on such a thought from Kesar and execute it, would further become open to the multiple interpretations, as you say - top of list being the one which would go he was a mere child Gulaal, but you struck a gold mine with his mere childish expression! What happens for real - that the idea is all Gulaal's own thought and executed hence, might on one account become singularly her blame - but then she doesn't get saddled with the whole used a child's random wishful thought to her benefit concept.

So I mean, sure, the CVs wanted it to be her decision - but technically speaking, so to say - it would have been her decision, whoever may have borne the inception of the idea.

But then again, in agreement with your latter part in the argument - I agree with how Kesar would not have had his particular edge in telling her she'd been making his crucial decisions for him, all life long! I do think he'd still find part feature in the debate, by saying that fine, he proposed the idea, but he was a kid - and she the sane adult, why didn't she check him from running those mental horses as she did at all other times that he was in error? But yes, it would not be half the argument as it is, when the onus is singularly hers to bear - in idea, and in decision.

Imma still give Mini's point out nearly equal credit - it seems like one heluva good reason from the POV of scripting the track as it was, to have been the reason for Kesar not springing the question to Gulaal. Especially, given the reaction MP projects in response to Kesar even asking her the 'meaning' of a DV - it's almost suspiciously like she expects him to throw the word at her 😆

I do want to add on a completely side note - in reference to your mention of Gulaal having her share of grey - that while Kesar has been the obvious grey anti hero for nearly half the duration of his character post leap, Gulaal herself, has been more of a 'flawed in conviction' person, than grey. While the flawed in conviction nuance is common to both leads, Kesar is grey, because of his execution in general, in line with his 'convictions' which are so often in the wrong. Gulaal on the other hand - with all the flaws that are to her credit, to me is not a grey character, because even her flaws stem, in fact, from NOT executing her convictions. The fact that Kesar gets into error of ways to gain his way and control with things, and Gulaal gets into error in wishing for everyone but herself to take the lead sort of sets them apart in paradox - despite all their similarities. And in that precisely, I view Gulaal as the imperfect and realistic protagonist, but not really a grey - Kesar ofc, in the undisputed anti hero for quite a running while.
