i just loved it wen maan said tumhara pata nahin meri soul aur mera pet dono hungry hain...soul ki hunger to shaadi tak bardasht karni paregi (dat was real cute) but pet ki hunger ka kuch karo...
i was in awe while reading d whole part...

What a beautiful and emotional part and the dialogues were so heart touching.

Thanks dear...He is a great doctor and loves Geet a lot. He combines both his profession and personal emotios and hence could do it so well..

Lot of you had asked a question – "Does such love exists"

So here is the inspiration behind last part.

My cousin sister is married into a middle class business joint family. My jiju owns a small shop and they stay not only with his parents and siblings but also siblings of his parents and their kids.

After marriage, my sis could not conceive due to some reasons. She was heart broken and entire family was worried about the impact this will have on her married life. Living in a joint family is not easy under such circumstances.

Respect for my jiju and his family increased ten fold when not only him but his entire family supported my sis. None of them ever complained or passed any snide comments. My jiju mentally supported my sister to adopt.

When my sister said that she always wanted a daughter, they adopted a 3 week girl first. My side of the family asked her if she was taking the right decision to adopt and that too a girl? But jiju and his family were with her whole heartily.

After few days they found out that the girl was quite sick and had lot of health issues and may not survive. But they had accepted her as part of her family truly. Like any other parent my sis and jiju spent months looking after their daughter and nursed her back to health.

Three years later, they also adopted a son.

They both love their kids completely. I am not sure if she is better than me or not but my sis is at least as good a mother I am. Their love is no less and entire family loves them like any other kids in the family.

So yes, he may not be as good looking as Maan. Yes, he is not rich and famous. But love…yes…true love and trust exists. It is just a matter of looking at things with right perspective.

And I whole heartily believe that ability to conceive is not a yardstick for completeness. Yes, it is a sensitive issue and it brings immense happiness. But yardstick is the love inside a women's heart and that love completes her when she showers it on her family.

Chapter 92 – Accusation

Next Morning Medicity Hospital 8:00 AM

Maan entered through doctor's entrance and met Adi at the pantry.

Maan – "Yaar, I feel like blasting Dr Juneja today…..because of her….you should have seen Geet's state yesterday."

Maan had told Adi later in the night about what had happened in brief. Adi tried to calm his agitated friend – "Chod na yaar…she is a junior surgeon and has a lot to learn….you talk to her after head's meeting today."

Maan nodded and left with Adi for department head's meeting.

Maan curled his fingers in anger as Dr Juneja walked in after the generic agenda was over.

Dr Sood – "Dr Juneja, I got your memo today and I was quite surprised. Can you please detail your complaint in front of the committee for proper action"

Kiran gave her best smile and started – "I am extremely sorry doctors but I feel it is my duty to put forth a case of unethical conduct I uncovered yesterday. Though a brilliant surgeon, Dr Khurana do not have much experience of handling patients as follow up cases. Hence it could be partly to his inexperience as well."

Maan clenched his teeth as Adi tried to calm him by patting his shoulder.

Kiran continued – "I due to chance, did follow up of patient id 123abc (name not divulged due to confidentiality) who is Dr Khurana's patient. She had not been properly briefed onto the consequences of her disease and impact of the same on her day to day life including important events like marriage and pregnancy. She was clueless about the facts of her disease leading to ruin of an innocent man she is planning to marry. I think it is unethical to bloat a patient's self image so much that she does not realize she is a danger to an unsuspecting person."

There was total shock written over the face of everyone in the room.

Dr Sood – "I hope you know what you are saying Dr Juneja….these are very serious allegations against a very senior doctor"

Kiran smirked – "I know Dr Sood….but facts do not change just because Dr Khurana is famous and senior"

Adi glanced at Maan trying to calm him. He wrote something on his pad as he knew his anger was getting out of control.

Maan looked at Adi's pad – "Maan…please control your anger and handle this professionally….just think about Geet….last thing she needs is a enquiry into this….how guilty will she feel….just think of her and nip this in bud itself"

Maan looked at Adi and took a deep breath. He spoke calmly – "May I"

Dr Sood nodded.

Maan continued – "Dr Juneja, did you happen to read the patient's file"

Kiran was very jealous of Maan. There wasn't much difference in their age but Maan had gone much ahead of her in career. She was also one of the very few girls in the medical college at whom Maan never showed interest as they passed out from same college. That rejection had turned into resentment. She looked haughtily at Maan – "How does that matter….question is on your integrity not mine"

Maan replied unperturbed – "Very true Dr Juneja, but if you had taken out time to even skim through history you would have found detailed description and notes of discussion which happened a year ago with the patient. These notes would have told you that exactly every major and minor event from marriage to hitting menopause….from changing weather to stress has been covered with the patient. She knew exact consequences and precautions"

Dr Juneja was little flustered – "But she stills seemed confused"

Maan cut her – "No she was not confused but you confused her. As a matter of fact this should be a case of gross neglect on your part but I wanted to let it go looking at your junior status. Now I am not very sure. Did you not tell the patient that there was a problem in her conceiving and becoming pregnant?"

Kiran was now on high alert. She was surprised that Maan knew the details of what had been discussed.

Maan - "We are waiting Dr Juneja…did you net tell the patient that she should have told her fianc that he can never be a father"

Man stressed on the word never.

Kiran hesitated – "yes…and it is true…her glands are damaged"

Maan again cut her – "On what basis did you say it….is there a problem with her uterus or with her ovaries?"

Kiran was defiant – "no….but her glands are damaged"

Maan – "So…she will have complications….will have to undergo multiple tests…take hormones artificially….when does this translate to a problem and use of word never"

Kiran – "Well the man has a right to know about the amount of problem he will go through"

Maan replied coolly – "Dr Juneja….patient's fianc is not my patient….she is my patient….and your words were incorrect….there is no problem in her conceiving whatsoever….as a matter of fact she is a blood pressure patient and has undergone a surgery few weeks back in the same hospital. Regardless of her medical situation and complications, you gave her stress by using such careless words and objectives"

Kiran tried to justify – "I did not know…"

Maan growled back – "Know what…did you not even check her basic history…..and if you did not know how could you give her incorrect advice….this is called gross neglect….when I met her yesterday evening, she was close to a break down…who would have been responsible for that….your careless conduct could have led to serious mishap if I had not controlled the situation…and you dare to accuse me of unethical behavior"

Dr Sood intervened at this point – "Dr Juneja…do you have anything constructive to add here…..if required I can do a personal interview with the patient to arbitrate"

Kiran was quite scared now. She knew she had bitten more than she can chew. "I am sorry Dr Khurana….I probably took a haste decision….I just wanted to learn and I just thought"

Dr Sood was at his wit's end at the girl's stupidity. "We do not tolerate such baseless accusations in this hospital Dr Juneja….you are a doctor and there is a certain responsibility which comes with that title….As of now, you are suspended for a week and a decision will be taken pending a inquiry by me and Dr Bakshi. I also expect a written apology to Dr Khurana and the patient for your careless actions."

With that the meeting was dismissed. Maan was seething with anger as he stepped out. He was going to make sure that Kiran doesn't work again in the same hospital with him. As usual Adi was trying to calm him when Dr Sood joined him.

Dr Sood – "Maan…woh patient ka fianc is a doctor right!!!"

Maan smiled for the first time since morning – "Yes Sir…..she was very upset yesterday"

Dr Sood just patted his shoulder and walked away but not before saying – "Don't worry….just take care of her"

With those words Maan knew that he will not have to face Dr Juneja again at least till he worked at Medicity.
