Mixed Response to Diwali Releases
For a belligerent festival like Deepavali, movies are the real crackers and bombers in the daily life. After a brief celebration at home, the majority of people prefer to throng the theatres to watch the initial shows. Quite unfortunately for this Deepavali, the number of new movies was lesser than ever in recent decades. Only three big projects – 7am Arivu, Velayutham and Ra One- came to the fore. Of course, promo campaigns occupied the TV channels and all media before the release. But the real pulse of the movies can be gauged only from the audience feedback. Within 48hours of the release, these movies received mixed responses from the audience.
Among these three films, Velayutham has got better recognition due to its commercial elements. As expected, the movie has come off well creating a definite opening galore in all the centres. For Vijay this upbeat mood is a contribution from his fans and is a need for his career. Sources from all the regions claim that Velayutham can succeed much beyond the anticipations.
7am Arivu has the complex responses that the audience is not clear to spell out the opinion about the movie. The dilemma over the result of the movie is mainly attributed to the complicated theme treated in a sophisticated manner by AR Murugadoss. Ace hero Surya has shelled out all his efforts to retain his supremacy but the run of the movie is not guaranteed, it seems. If only the audience is too willing to accept the concept then the movie can gain some popularity. Otherwise it will be a tough journey for Surya and ARM.
Ra One, it is learnt, entered the foray just to fill in the global release. Shah Rukh Khan liked to entourage the regional ploy with the inclusion of Super star in this movie. But the response has been meaty as the audience is more concerned with the local pleadings than the Bollywood favor. From the opening spell, it could be assumed that of these three movies, Velayutham wins the race as others lag at a long distance.
