Picture this - an auditorium packed to capacity, a superstar on stage and an IPad playing the tune 'Chammak Challo' although this may be difficult to imagine much less fathom, this was precisely the word by word scene on stage at Ra One's much hyped Toronto premiere.
The sun and clouds gave way to a frosty evening in Toronto, hundreds of fans and media personnel braved the chilly weather eagerly in anticipation of Shahrukh's arrival on the red carpet. The thought that the wait might be over soon with an SRK sighting was enough to keep all waiting sufficiently warm.
After premiering Ra One first in Dubai and then in London, Team Ra One led by Shahrukh and featuring Director Anubhav Sinha, Actress Shahana Goswami and child actor Armaan Varma made their way to T.O with Shahrukh landing in the city earlier in the afternoon.
As Shahrukh stepped onto the red carpet well past 7:30 in the evening, fans went into a frantic frenzy mode upon his arrival. Chants of Shahrukh, Shahrukh, Shahrukh gathered momentum and volume as SRK made his way through the crowds. Meeting fans for minutes on end and patiently answering media's questions, his king sized gesture had all floored – no wonder he's called King Khan.
Gauging by the big smile and visible dimples, Shahrukh was in great spirits upon receiving such a warm reception from Torontonians yet again. So much so that prior to the movie commencing he broke into an impromptu dance routine to Chammak Challo pelvic thrusts and all.
Diwali is a celebration of the triumph of good over evil, last night it was a celebration of the triumph good hearted, good natured and genuinely good gentleman Shahrukh over the hearts of Toronto as the King Khan once again cemented his place in the hearts of Toronto and this time with an everlastingly impression.
