Saas-Bahu Addiction

The "Saas Bahu" tag has become a household name after Ekta Kapoor took over the television world. What have they been done in aid of? Does it fight for a cause (if so what could the cause be)? Or is it just another serial for good entertainment (which is not possible because it requires constant serious staring at the screen to understand and appreciate)? In the midst of an increasing amount of women taking over their "independence", you have almost every other story line where women (the saas and bahu) rule the screen. Why does the nation need another force to remind it of the culture fix still that it is in?

It does not at all represent anything good or beneficial of the culture (which is the claim). It's like a cult that people follow. We, Indians, when we know not enough of our culture to be proud of it we cover up those blots by being even more proud of it. What good is our culture if it does nothing beneficial for us? What good is it if it just holds us down? There was an opposition to Manoj Bohra of serial 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay' because the serial has a stumbling block for the students since they spend a huge portion of their time on it. The Star TV serials have become an addiction for many.

but yaar, ppl are silly like that. I'll tell you a story I heard about one actor in the States. I don't know if you've ever watched One Tree Hill, but there is an actor (Paul, who plays "Dan") who plays a dad to two sons, but he is really, really evil and really bad to his kids, esp. "Lucas"(actor Chad Michael Murray).

The actor Paul came on tv recently and told the audience that he was in New York one day, just minding his daily business, when an old lady stepped out in front of him and hit him HARD, with her handbag (apparently the handbag was really heavy!).

He asked he, "What the hell was that for?" and she replied "I don't like what you are doing to that boy Lucas. You are so mean to him. You should give him his father's name..blah blah blah" 😆

Paul couldn't stop laughing...he said ppl often confuse reality with fiction....they cannot distinguish between characters and actors. Thats what happens here too...Saaskhi Tanwar always says that she cannot get married because everybody calls her "Parvati Bhabhi" even uncles twice her age and esp. all the ligible single men 😆 😆 and before Shweta Kawaatra (Pallavi) got married, she used to complain that nobody wanted to marry her because they thoughgt she was evil in real life!

I guess ppl just can't separate fiction from reality.

I think ppl ofen confuse their self serial wih real life. They think if a person is bad in serial he is bad in real life 2 & vice-versa, Mostly elderly ppl!!
