Chapter 89 – Crashing World

15^th February - Medicity Hospital 8:30 PM

Maan reminisced about past few days which have been hectic trying to complete all the shopping and arrangements for the marriage. They had only gone for a simple dinner yesterday due to time crunch.

He stretched himself but felt it was all worth it. He was tired working so hard in hospital as well as he wanted to take a full month off for after marriage.

He sighed – "Is ladki ne bhi mujhe phone nahin kiya aaj…zaroor busy hogi…lekin message to kar sakti thi especially about her appointment today."

He looked at the copy of Geet's laboratory reports which were as normal as they could be given the circumstances. He had asked her to take the consult with Dr Juneja for her pre marriage appointment. He recalled his argument with her last week

---Flashback---

Geet – "Mujhe nahin jaana Dr Kiran Juneja ke paas….mujhe aapke paas hi aana hai…..please ab main aapke liye important nahin hoon na"

Geet turned her back to Maan in a huff and folded her hands on her chest twisting her mouth towards one side in anger.

Maan hugged her from behind and kept his chin on her shoulder– "Mishti….asisa nahin hai jaan…dekho mujhe koi problem nahin hai but are you sure, you won't feel uncomfortable when I will share hormonal changes with you specially related to physical intimacy and making love"

Geet said in an exasperated voice – "Maan!!!!"

Maan continued calmly – "Dekho…abhi tak jab bhi I discussed all such questions, I was quite professional. Moreover we never crossed our limits as we were not engaged and so near to our wedding. Lekin ab I can't lie that I don't think about such things and be professional with you. You will also be embarrassed as you know….it is a state of mind. After marriage, I will again do your consultations because then we will already be one. Hmmm…..lekin phir bhi if you want me to do it, I can do it with you and I promise I will try to remain as objective as possible"

Geet turned and hugged him tight – "Aap thik keh rahe ho…main nahin keh paoongi aapse woh sab"

---Flashback ends---

"Shayad…use pata hai ki I can not do without checking her reports"

"Lekin abhi bahut hua….I am also damn tired….abhi niklunga to I can at least have dinner with her."

Khurana Mansion 9:00 PM

Maan entered the foyer to find all elders sitting around a game of caroms. Pari was watching television and it was evident that Rahul wasn't home. Annie was missing and most likely would be in KH. Geet was also not in the living room.

Maan – "Hello Everyone"

Juhi looked up to see a tired out Maan – "Maan, bahut thaka lag raha hai….chal pehle khana kha le"

Maan - "Hmmm Mom…waise Geet ne kuch kaha ki uska appointment kaise raha aaj….she didn't even call me" Maan complained.

Nisha – "Are kahan Maan….aaj to usne mujhe bhi phone nahin kiya aur abhi tak ghar bhi nahin aayi hai"

Maan was surprised – "What….but she told me she has taken off and will be going for her dress fitting….did that change?"

Nisha was perplexed now – "Haan usne jaana to tha….main toh bhul hi gayi….Pari beta zara Rahul ko phone karke puch woh kab aa raha hai and also ask him if Geet is still in office"

Pari dialed Rahul and spoke with him.

Pari –"Mumma he is on his way and will be back in few minutes and he said that Geet to aaj office nahin aayi"

Just then Nakul entered - "Aap log Geet Didi ko dhoond rahe hain par woh to apne kamre mein hi hain….jabse wapis aayi hain, wahin hain….main lunch leke gaya tha par unhone khaya hi nahin"

Everyone was startled. Raj – "What…she is in the house and we don't even know….uski tabiyat to thik hai…and aapne humin bataya kyon nahin that she did not have lunch"

Nakul just looked down as he hadn't given it much thought.

Raj went upstairs and knocked at Geet's door. All were standing at the foot of stairs waiting for her. Maan itched to climb up the stairs but modesty stopped him.

After couple of knocks and Raj's calling, Geet finally opened the door. Raj was shocked to see her state. Her hair was in mess and her eyes were puffy and red. It was evident that she had been crying a lot.

Raj was concerned – "Geet….beta yeh kya haal bana rakha hai….what happened"

Maan could not stop himself hearing the concern in Raj's voice. He along with entire family climbed the stair. He was shaken to the core seeing Geet's state. He could not stop himself and went past Raj to place a hand lightly on her shoulder. "Geet…kya hua….what's wrong"

Geet who was standing still suddenly looked up to face him. Maan shuddered at the pain he saw in her eyes. Tears flew down her eyes. She grabbed his hand still looking at him and pushed it down.

"How could you do this to me Maan….how could you….I don't want lies….I don't want this fakeness….what did you think….I will be happy…..how could you….You have cheated me…..You shouldn't have lied to me….you shouldn't have."

Maan was perplexed at her words. He couldn't understand the reason for her accusations. He started – "Geet…yeh tum"

But Geet just ignored him and looked at her father. "I am not getting married….call this marriage off….I don't want to"

Saying this she burst into tears and unable to continue further she went inside her room banging the door and falling on her bed as sobs raked her body.
