Despondency, Denial, & Declarations! - Page 4

Hello Everyone , Kya karun ! main itni late hoon , is liye utna enjoy nahin kar sakti jitna tum logon ne kiya hai discussing this scene , but please please , do allow me to write in few lines - otherwise meri atma ko shanti nahin milegi ! Some quick thoughts :

Gulaal says - Agar is "lagta hai" ki ise meri koi phikar nahin ' clearly showing that in the midst of her pain and hurt also not for amoment did she believe he really didn't care for her ' she knew very well that he cared but didn't care '

When Kesar realizes Gulaal is giving up on him, with her "aisa hi sahi" lines,for the first time he defends himself .."waajah hai mere paas" ' probably the first time Kesar gives an inkling that he is doing so for a different reason'but he was gentle in blurting that out because right now he is also feeling the attachment that surfaced when he was nearly losing her and Gulaal's "rejection" of him is also full of pain and somewhere, full of love too , and he is gentler with her than he wants to be'.but later when this same "rejection" from Gulaal comes in a much stronger way by the lakeside ' when he thinks she has preferred Dushyant over him - he is pained enough to blurt out the complete reason behind his changed behaviour with her (that he knows Vasant was killed by D)...

Also ,here Gulaal - says "agar ise mujh pe nahiun us wajah pe bharosa hai, to aisa hi sahi" 'and there she says something like "agar tujhe mujh pe bharosa hi nahin tab to baat hi khatam ho gayi na Kesar (tujhe mere lawaab pe kaise bharosa hoga)" '. I don't know how to express it , but both days on questioning by Kesar, Gulaal had the same answer , as if to say ' if you trust me , no discussion is needed and if you don't , then what's the point in discussing anyways ? '. So deep and dignified was her response to not being trusted

And , ofcourse , who can forget the last line of this scene ' Gulaal's declaration to him that she will not change and nor will her love for him ' left ringing in our ears as in his ' in the form of the last piece of music which was again so apt and beautiful..as she walks sadly away'..
