My Story ,😃😛
I have been aware of Barun Sobti since his Silent era days , I mean since his advertisement days..Among the galaxy of Good looking Models with sculpted Abs, wooden face ..Barun stood apart with his expressive eyes,Mobile face and an ability to convey within a stipulated [spanning few seconds] time ..be it the Ford Figo Ad's or a Husband caught between an exciting match and a attention seeking wife [another ad ], Barun managed to make them his own .He managed to exude an aura of goodness, a feeling of calmness ..He had the ability to make u smile and feel good about urself ...He was the quintessential Good Man, a dependable man whom u could take home to meet the parents !! .. Needless to say, I liked him but had not become a fan yet ...
The second time I saw him and most importantly heard him was in IP...I was flabbergasted cos i was expecting a ruthless tycoon with a steely [baritone] voice and what I got was a angry man with a soft voice , moreover one who had the tendency to mumble his dialogue.. To say I was disappointed was like saying that Mt.Everest is a small Hillock ..But there was HIS eyes , His eyes which as usual sung to u , mesmerized u with the myriad emotions it let out ...Plus that wonderful, sizzling undercurrent with the female kept me riveted and I persevered on, swallowing my disappointment at the voice ...Gradually it dawned on me that Barun is being very subtle and is giving a nuanced and under rated performance ..Be it the flick of his eyes, the puckering of his eyebrows , the gritting of his jaws ..He was breathing ASR ... added to that I also discovered that I was actually beginning to like the soft voice and he was also using it to maximum effect, his Patha nahi Di, effectively conveying the frustration making us smile, His arrogant tone when he says Aukkat inducing a a angry buzz in our ears, His concerned Tum Teek Ho making us all feel warm as though the poser is directed at us ..Heyyy, I realized that it was the very voice i disliked that was giving me all those different feeling ...And before I could even say Mamma Mia, I discovered I had become a fan [ All I know is that the journey from like to fanhood began from Figo and I became a full fledged fan during the GH track ]
