Okay Okay - Meena Kalyaana VaibOgame

A rainy day in Bangalore - Nithya and Roja gearing up for an evening rendezvous - Let us first get an idea of the milieu in both the houses.

Roja's house - Krish is at his tether's end : " Mazhai...two ladies going alone...evening...will be late when you get back...namba driver Oru poonjai...aanalum apdi Oru pidivaatham unakku...why can't you go for the muhurtham??? You cant get up so early , eh?? sOnna kekkara jaathiya nee??? " - 3 days munnadi start aana archanai gained momentum and as Roja was busy making kozhukkattais for the Vinayagar reached the peak - pOrinji kOttal got over, he gobbled the kozhakkattais and went for his golf - golf is his love - wife takes the last row 😉 But made sure to spell out stipulations - "no silk saree , no gold, no attracting any attention, gotcha??? " Not that Roja is keen about wearing silk and with that rain ...dry cleaning vera pannanum...so decided to wear a printed silk.

Roja promptly calls Nithya and tells her the conditions - not knowing that Nithya has an equal story to say " Ingeyum athe kathai thaan Roja , amma, Venkat ellarum 1000 conditions pOttutta , Pattavathu sOttavathu... normal jewellary ai kooda kazhatti vaichu ttu thaan varanum... Kaarthale pO nnu ingeyum Ore adam...children have school ..nadakkira kaariyamaa??" Roja is happy that she is not alone in having a nOchu hubby " ulagathile ella hubby um ipdi gudakka irukku ??!! " Nithya reminds " Bouquet??" Roja promises to pick up - " intha mazhaile yaaravathu Oru yemantha sOnagiri shop thiranthu irukkatha?? will try .." Roja promptly leaves home at 5 pm , calls Nithya who is still at the contemplating stage " enna pudavai?? will be ready in 10 mins Roja " Ennathu?? ready aa??? Appo innum dressing aarambikkaliyaa??? Roja managed to pick up the bouquet ..decides to buy some fruits for the house - " Madivaala market pakkam pOrathunnu aachu, might as well put it to good use " Umpteen phone calls between Nithya and Roja - finally Nithya's face is seen...she hops in to the car...Meena here we come 😉

Roja's driver normally has an ear plug - the reason he gives is plausible ( Bangalore weather le enakku ear pain adikkadi varum mma ) but Roja knows the truth 😉 " intha amma vum avanga friend um ??? Hosur varai??? Ear plug illame pOrathukku naan enna MM MM aa ??" - Kumar's dialog by Roja the dialog writer. To justify the ear plugs , Roja and Nithya chatted - incessant chatter . IF le aarambichu Adithya B'day return gifts varai ... Sadakk nnu Toll gate vanthachu. Dhandam azhuthuttu - return ticket le kOnjam saving !! - proceeded to Hosur. Roja had printed the map given in the invitation but scales correct aa nnu theriyalai - so asked around - just in time. Some one was kind enough to show a small lane - left le thirugi, right le valichu..nera pOnaa... Roja kku innum intha Santhu pOnthu driving laam use aagalai - and on top that enge paartahaalum Vinayagar Chathurthi celebs vera - Kutti lane innum narrow aa irunthuthu !!! Managed to reach the mandapam.

Mandapam was big - honestly did not expect it to be so big considering the narrow lane we had to endure for reaching the spot. Parked the car - Nithya and Roja simultaneously called the husbands - "vanthuttOm ppa , safe aa ??" Roja does not know the reaction of Venkat but made a mental note to thrash Krish - Illatha Pollatha stipulations pOttu ttu ...phone pannina " sitting on a birdie now ... par 5 hole...Odidu " uh huh talk about a golf widow !!!

We entered the Mandapam - dining hall in the ground floor - watched the preps - hmm goodies are getting ready yeeyyy yippeee - and climbed the stairs - Just then the engagement was getting over - Roja and Nithya know nobody there - including Meena - ava voice mattum thaan nalla theriyum!!! But being the bride, we could spot her easily ( illatta , should go to each and every body and ask them to say a few words !!) We decided to get in to the Bride's room and introduce ourselves. Meena came and we introduced ourselves - her relatives looked at us as if we were aliens - must have thought " intha mazhai le IF friend ngra ore Oru qualification Oda...hmmm " Roja saw Meena's nails first - decided to wait to make any comment as the introduction stage was still on - aana Roja marakkalai 😉. Meena had her beautician working on her and we chatted generally with every one. Bride's room aa Central station platform aa nnu theriyalai - people just walked in and out - Roja literally showed the door to the videgrapher who was all set to catch Meena dressing !!! Nithya , enna pesinOm nnu can you recall?? Roja can not - aama loda lOda nnu pesinde iruntha??!!! Roja slowly asks Meena " true nails??" Nithya, did you sense the fear in Roja's voice " antha Praveen paavam ppa " - Meena allayed Roja's fear - " no no articificial thaan nanna illya?? eduthudavaa??" Roja immediately said " athai muthalle sey mma, paavam antha Praveen, enakke bayama irukku, has a cannibalistic look " She promptly removed the nails. Antha beautician probably has a magic wand in hand - made a beautiful hairstyle in no time - talk turned to switches and Meena's relative categorically explained as to how the hair from Thirupathy gets cleaned and exported - " big business, you know " . Meena had chosen some nice jewellery (later learnt that it was Praveen's choice ) - Roja was told that she hired them - Nithya had to remind Roja a few times " this is India for you Roja - opportunities galore " The photographer was getting restless - ennamO avarukku thaan kalyaanam mathiri !!! Meena had a beautiful maroonish red saree - not that you could see the color - the Zari was hiding the color. She looked happy - which increased her beauty. The videographer barged in - "enough is enough guys, she is beautiful, no more make up " All of us were agape at the poses - kannathile Oru viral...turn this side...now the other way... - The reception was supposed to start at 7 - Meena finally got ready at 7.10 pm - Other than Roja, Nithya, Meena and her beautician all others fretted about the delay !!! Roja was happy that Meena is training Praveen from day 1 " waiting nna enna nnu therinjukO man..this is future, ok??" The photographer had an axe to grind with Roja " ennai ya shoo shoo nnu virattine, unnai enna panren paaru ippO " look kuduthaar - Roja sariyaana Aadu, could not read that emotion and so extended the bouquet to Meena - for a second the photographer felt bad for Roja " vettu vettu nnu ipdi yaa kazhuthai kaatum??" but grabbed the chance to avenge " Bouquet ai pidichi kitti both of you stand by Meena's side ... inge paarunga...siringa..." happened - and before Roja could say Jack Robinson...photos taken. Ithile Nithya vera , closed her eyes ..so one more shot ...Nithyaaa neeyumaa?? 😉

Roja said she will start by 5.30 and Nithya too planned to start by the same time.. ana.. roja reached before time..😳 coz she wanted to get to the venue before it gets dark.. 😳 Nithya who was busy shopping for her son Adithya's birthday return gifts had to hurry up and plead Venkat to drop her till the nearest auto stand.. 😭 venkat enroute gave the yet another set of instructions.. call up the moment u reach.. get back at the earliest and so on.. kikke bikkenu pesindu don't miss the route.. 😡 Nithya boom boom maadu madiri thalaya attina.. Nithya's mind voice.. happadda for change she is going out without baggages.. 😉 Venkat mind voice.. ippadi baby sitting pannavaippa munnnadiye therinjiruntha office work ila IIM assignmentnu scene pottu ess ayirikka lame.. 😆 Nithya gave instructions to Venkat for the return gifts and upon her return from the wedding, she found that he had correcta bought the wrong things.. 😡

Roja waiting and Nithya struggled to cross the road .. finally Nithya hopped onto the car and wrongly wished Roja Good Afternoon.. 😳 Roja smiled and corrected Good Evening.. 😉 Roja managed to find a Bouquet on a holiday 👍🏼 (Vinaygar Chtirthi).. Nithya was impressed.. 👏 Both were yapping away and Kumar replied in monosyllable or just nodded for the questions we asked him .. 😲Roja, Nithya is still not able to digest the fact that Roja's driver does not have tongue.. 😲😲 Roja was excited when she saw Anand Bhavan at the entrance of Hosur..😛 She was relieved that we were on the right track.. We reached the venue within 40 mins.. pretty fast according to Bangalore road traffic..😊

Mandapam entrancele such a big spiral staircase.. Roja was aghast.. She decided . I cannot climb so many steps.. lets see if there is lift.. After some hunting we found.. no lift.. but there was a back door entrance with fewer number of steps.. We chose the option of fewer steps.. Aha.. adhu via dining hall .. 😆😆 ella itemsum quick glance and went to the first floor.. 😉 Spotted the bride.. followed her to her room .. She was staring at us trying to guess yaruppa idhu rendum.. Finally Roja announced I am Roja.. Meenas' facela 1000 watts bulb glowing.. 😃 She immediately said so you are Nithya.. Thanks a lot to both of you for coming.. Please take your seat.. 2 chair pottu we both sat and decided to chit chat with Meena..

Bride room door wide open, anybody and everybody could barge in.. 😃 Roja could not take it.. She was trying to shoo away the crowd.. Pavam avangalukku theriyala this is how marriages happen in India.. 😉 Andha photographer was chased away so many times.. Avar Kola veriyoda suthindu irunthar.. 🤣 ivlo sathathukku nadula one aunty was sleeping and we were jealous.. 🤣🤣

Meena's imitation jewellery set in American diamond was excellent.. 👏 Roja and Nithya were just gaping at it.. 😆 Roja was astonished that we could rent jewellery and Nithya had to tell her it is artcificial and not real.. 😉 Meena told us that she went with her would be and selected it.. adhan extra jolijolippu pola.. 😳😳

Meena's cousin had a tattoed mehendi and Roja was bowled over.. 😆 Roja felt this was far better than the regular one. Less time spent and good looking too..
