Am Presenting a Paper on 'Maryada'!

Guys, I am presenting a paper on "Maryada" at a national-level conference on Monday. The focus of my paper will be the revolutionary manner in which homosexuality is being shown in this serial. I honestly believe this is already an historic soap opera. Never before on Indian television has homosexuality been dealt with in SUCH a confident, mature, humane manner. I would have never thought that I would write a seminar paper on a TV serial one day. "Maryada" has changed all that! This is NOT just entertainment! It's attitude to homosexuality will, I hope, serve as a model as to how to portray adult sexuality on the small screen. In a country where the Health Minister considers homosexuality as an illness AND unnatural (isn't illness natural???) positive representations of homosexuality are CRUCIAL! "Maryada" is not just entertaining us. It is also doing VALUABLE social service. This is called entertainment with a social responsibility! BRAVO "MARYADA"!!!👏👏👏
