I always read your posts but never replied in a full mode. But as the show is going to end , I just dont wanted to miss anything...😊

So a lot of things were dealt in this thread- yesterday's episode, final ME, Mansi's interview, actor's onscreen/off screen chemistry and so on. While reading this thread in the morning, a lot of things came to my mind and then I had to leave for my college and now I am trying to pick up one by one.

I have seen them OFF-SCREEN, only on those SBS segments posted here and that too post leap and I have always felt Mansi and Neil shares a better comfort level with each other and a funny thing in this is whenever these three are together it seems Hally /Thalli as an odd one out😆 (it may be the impact of Hally's character).

Words are not enough to comment on their ONSCREEN chemistry, esp as a couple, it really takes us to another world (and this is actually missing in so many other show's leads).

Even Kesar as a kid most of us were somewhat foreseen Kesar's probable falling for Gulaal in future. I dont know why , whenever I saw Kesar and Thalli together I always felt a bro-sis sort of atmosphere around them,seriously while Gulsar always has that spark...that sparkling chemistry.

Nowadays a lot of "what ifs" are popping up in to my mind:

What if Kesar had fallen for Thalli as he returned just like in the novel?

What if Gulaal was introduced to him as Vasanth's wife at first itself?

What if the role of Gulaal had played by some one like Swetha Tiwari, lead of BALH, who looked much elder to Neil. After all looks and chemistry is important in a visual media even though preference goes for the story.

As for Vaslaal Vs Gulsar all that I had to tell is Gulaal terribly missed Vasanth but with Gulsar they are not missing but lacking each other, even if it is the case of just a few hours.

Sorry dear I went a bit off topic, I really dont know to stick to a single one in the case of my fav topics.

anyway - to your interestingly raised questions, here are some of my takes:

what is Kesar had fallen for Talli when he first came back - you know, this is not the GK fan in me, but Kesar's character as from the show is a mix of the book, and Heathcliff, as Reemz once pointed out - and then there are additive purely unique Kesar traits to him. The Kesar that we see in the running of this show could never have fallen for Talli. If he had, the character sketch would have been different. I don't think I could justify the extremes his character can go to - if he had fallen for Talli, because that would implicitly project a mellow and distracted tinge to this very singularly focused attention of Kesar towards Gulaal - the good and bad of him, has always been about Gulaal... his extremities and reforms are both a consequence of her position in his life... and as we once discussed in a weekend muse topic, but for Gulaal - Kesar could have had a very normal life, falling in love with and living together with someone like Talli - more peaceful but never enough to bring out half the person he has the potential of being, as good and bad.

Again about Gulaal being Vasant's wife from the start - it would make no difference. Inside his head, what Kesar and Gulaal have, is something exclusive to them. Even if she was Vasant's wife, always, she would never be bhabhi to him - at that raw age, he wont know what the importance of being someone else's wife is, and as he'd grow up, it would be the tough triangle among G-K-V... Kesar has felt this individual possession of Gulaal rights irrespective of the relation ship with her. Its not about her looks, its not about 'the goodness' in her, because as a kid, he couldn't tell the good and bad apart so disntinctly, or wouldn't he know better about JKs family? He has always taken to Gulaal, as this person who is exclusive for him, to him, and someone he is exclusive to as well...If she was Vasant's wife from the start she would still probably have given him that edge and exclusivity, as she did in the show, all along, and so to Kesar - it would have been Gulaal - not the relation bonding them...

And finally about Gulaal 'looking' elder than Kesar - i suppose that too would have been more a question of audience acceptance, more than Kesar's acceptance as a character. The character of Kesar has not fallen for the character of Gulaal because she continues to look good and pretty and mostly his age... he has loved Gulaal - from when she looked old enough to be at least his young aunt, if not a mother, to now, when she looks up and about his age... so the looks would have really been imperative to audience impression, more than anything else... and we shall not know what it would be like, if it was that - but can I say I'm glad it was Mansi, because I don't know another actress who'd have done so much justice?! I just can't imagine anyone else playing Gulaal or Kesar...
