I hear you. I agree with what you say. But I still think Bhairon is not right. You also said he should have added a caveat which he didn't!
I think Bhairon has been tough in many things - like postponing Sugna's gauna much against Sugna's own will, DS, Sumitra and Sugna's in-laws who even threatened to break the marriage. Or sending Anandi away or not letting her and Jagya sleep in the same room when they were teenagers. Anandi's parents had also protested a lot and threatened dire consequences when he sent her to them. They had failed to see the reasons why he was actually sending her to them. Still in both situations he held his own and DID NOT BUDGE.
Why couldn't he take a strong stance here? In Jagya and money supply case? Or earlier in case of child marriage itself?
His own so-called stand or concerns as father or head of the family are weak and are on an on-off basis. It's like a tubelight whose starter has problems and whose light always keeps flickering!
Anandi's kasams or her butting in could have been dealt with if he had been more strict and tough.
But he has not been tough!
