Anurag Kashyap's forthcoming film Michael has been chosen for the 36th Toronto Film Festival. The film stars Naseeruddin Shah and Mahie Gill among other actors.

Director Anurag Kashyap told Mumbai Mirror, "The film is shot in Kolkata for over 40 days. The plot is the change in the political scene after 40 years of communism.

The story revolves around a cop who shoots a child and gets fired from the force. He then starts a business of pirated films. The name of the protagonist is Michael. The release date of thefilm will be decided after the film festival."

He adds, "Last year, we went to Cannes, Venice and Toronto with Udaan and That Girl In The Yellow Boots. This year we will visit Toronto with Trishna (which stars Freida Pinto) and Michael. Obviously it's an honour. It makes us feel like we must be doing something right."

Pankaj Kapoor's Mausam will also be screened at the Film Festival.
