You may be right. But I think we should applaud them for at least moving towards that direction. I agree that they've disappointed many times in the past and it is after all a serial, that too, on a channel which has another really great serial like...(the one whose name begins with U)!
I did write about certain things which they can show in my yesterday's post (previous page of this thread). I wonder if they'll show even one of them!
DS is still making faces, rolling her eyes and playing a pessimistic well wisher. I wonder if she will let Anandi progress?
I also have reservations about the actress who plays Anandi. The show may expand its canvas, but can the actor fit that canvas? Do justice to it as convincingly as possible? [I reserve my comments on Pratyusha...till we get to see her in her transformed role...]
Seeing how childish, playful, innocent and docile Anandi is and how they've always shown her relying on fondling from Sumitra and Gehna...I wonder if the character can really transform into a strong social worker or not... (I have always felt that they showed too much bachpana (in mannerisms) in Anandi, even after the leap!)
Still I do think they should be congratulated for turning in a different direction, rather than just remarriage or suicide or being sent to an ashram for abandoned women or living as a glorified maid in Singh house.
I really wish they keep the focus on her and stop giving more than required space to Singhs (we've had enough of them for 3 years!) and JaGo (I mean J-G can be shown, but Anandi's story should take the centerstage). I also wish they gradually reduce laado type fondling for Anandi.
Sumitra should give sensible support and motivation instead of pampering Anandi, calling her laado, and giving her food or milk from time to time or crying with her/behind her back/for her! I wish to see a more toned down Sumitra too! Anandi is no kid after all!
For now, I just hope Anandi is able to handle the divorce thing properly. She's just beginning to come out of past and depression. I hope this thing doesn't push her back in emotional turmoil! Fervently hoping there's no relapse of depression! :(
