In a recent interaction, Akshay acknowledged the massive response to Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s film, calling it a “great film” that caters to a completely different audience. He made it clear that comparisons don’t worry him, since both films belong to separate spaces.

Talking about the clash with PTI, Akshay explained that Dhurandhar 2 is designed as a mature, intense watch, while Bhooth Bangla leans towards family-friendly entertainment. For him, the focus has never been on chasing trends or competing with what’s currently popular.

He shared that the team simply believed in their story and made the film accordingly. According to Akshay, the intent behind Bhooth Bangla was always to offer something light-hearted and enjoyable, especially for audiences looking for a fun theatrical experience.

One of the biggest highlights of Bhooth Bangla is Akshay’s reunion with Priyadarshan after several years. The duo has previously delivered iconic entertainers like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

Akshay revealed that they’ve already wrapped not just this film, but also another project together, returning to their old style of working on back-to-back films. He expressed confidence in their collaboration, recalling how their previous outings have consistently struck a chord with audiences.

“There are different kinds of films (being made). 'Dhurandhar' is a great film, I've seen it. This ('Bhooth Bangla') is a different film. 'Dhurandhar' is an adult film; this ('Bhooth Bangla') is for kids and families."
