As an ardent viewer of BV since it started in 2008, I would like to thank the CVs for restoring the original essence of the show and taking an inspirational turn.

Thanks for showing such supportive in-laws and radical steps being taken in a serial which is set in rural areas. Even serials set in urban areas don't show such progressive values as this serial has dared to show. Parents, teachers, in-laws and society standing behind a woman and giving her unconditional motivation and support to stand on her own feet! 👏

Thanks for being different. It could have been very easy to reduce this show to yet another love triangle or rectangle and twisting it to myriad shapes! But I'm glad you guys didn't do that and kept the flavour of this show intact! Thanks for sticking to the promise which this show had carried when it had first started in 2008!

Many serials started promising to address issues like eve-teasing, bonded labour, poor kids making do with other's thrown away stuff or innocent girls being cheated by NRIs and abandoned or girls having to give up their ambitions due to marriage or parental pressure etc.. But all serials deviated and ended up as ek hi theli ke chattey-battey! Congratulations to BV for daring to be different and not deviating from its original line of thought!👏

It is wonderful that Anandi is being shown as a social activist. This is much better than all those serials which claim to address social issues, but are ultimately nothing but love stories, saas-bahu crap or in-house politics drama. The women in such shows do nothing for society, but are mere arm-chair activists, occasionally standing up for the rights of some woman in their own family!

There have been leads taking a stand in their own lives and fighting for their own rights, but rarely have their been leads who've also made a difference to society in a serial!😊

It's worth appreciating that you did not show Anandi's parents thinking of getting her re-married or Anandi going to an ashram for abandoned women or committing suicide or running away from home and living somewhere else with a changed name! It's great that her in-laws support her and have given her total independence and control over her own life, freedom to choose her occupation and build her life her own way, instead of throwing her out or getting her remarried!!

While I do not agree with Jagya being let off, as I discussed in other thread, but I hope he someday has to go to court due to the blunders he's made and mocked the laws of the land! I hope you show Jagya paying dearly for all his sins, instead of minor hiccups for just 2 months! Hope his bubble breaks to bits!!

Thanks for showing Anandi concentrate on herself and her mission in life, rather than being ready to accept Jagya back in her life (if he comes) or looking for support of a new man! Otherwise, women are shown to try to live happily, but they don't do anything for themselves and the serial shows some new man entering her life and relieving her of her trauma!!

Hope this serial becomes like the RDB/TZP of Indian television. It entertains and enlightens at the same time! What movies like RDB and TZP are to cinema, I hope BV is like that to television!😍⭐️

Thanks again for not cheating the viewers and serving same old ghisaa-pitta masala!

Looking forward to see a truly inspirational chapter unfolding in BV. 😊

[Want to ultimately see Anandi becoming a force to reckon with, a voice of women and getting award from government for her exceptional work! Would love to see her as an onscreen icon, true icon!! An ideal woman in truest sense, not just another adarsh bahu!]

true BV has proved itself to be different... SOcial work suits Anandi best becoz she does it with passion, but as u mentioned in other posts they need to really build pace and not let it drag...Today as an opening shot I could forgive the drag but this can't continue for ever...see GAGA track has enough story: they can show romance, insecurity, fights, financial troubles, comparisons

Now they need to build Anandi track: they can't show a drag story...the story needs to have enough spice...

My 2 cents for the story:May be Anandi will go to the landlord and question him or provoke the villagers against the land lord thus angering the landlord...A big movement starts with media publicity and Anandi fights all odds...TV news broadcasting Anandi's andolans and the mumbai docs along with GAGA watch it in their cafeteria...All docs appreciate her corage and valour, Jaggu shifty eyed and Gauri raging mad...I feel the trio need to be bound all the time not in uttaran style but due to guilt from one party and forgiveness from the other.

Thanks everyone. :)

I think we have to congratulate them for being different and for showing a woman building her own life and also reforming the society. And primarily for restoring the show's original essence rather than succumbing to usual masala fare.

I think masala or intrigue can come through Anandi too!

Anandi being challenged by orthodox people, fighting threats from orthodox sarpanches, dharam aur samaj ke thekedaar and even struggling against resistance from backward minded women - I believe they can keep viewers glued to their TV sets by showing Anandi taking on the society and certain religious and political leaders who feed this cycle of discrimination against women!

I also want to point out that I'd want to see Anandi tackling things on her own, rather than using Bhairon to offer to help others! I know it can't be shown so soon, because Anandi has just begun to take baby steps in this direction, but in future I don't want her to rely on her family as batteries that power her or her social work!

GAGA or other stuff has been shown more than enough. Every character in BV has enjoyed tracks which dedicated months of spotlight on them. It's high time Anandi, as a grown up INDIVIDUAL gets her own space and development, especially being the lead of the show. [ And I am not saying this as a fan of a particular actor, but a particular CHARACTER which carried a lot of promise when the show started!]

True that GAGA stuff can be shown in bits in every episode or after every 2 days or so!

We don't always need a man to make the show interesting - like women fighting over a man or men and women romancing each other.

Anandi's tension with men and women resistant to change or reform in society can also make things spicier. Or some people trying to poison DS' ears against Anandi and attempting to turn in-laws against her for giving her ''too much freedom'' can also create interesting space for conflict.

Like I said, even movies like RDB and TZP address issues. But they are awesome and interesting. They engaged viewers and impacted society at the same time. Why can't a serial do the same? I wish BV sets an example!

I couldn't agree with you more Annika.

Anandi the character needs to take centre stage and I think the CVs need to overhaul Anandi's persona or swap out the artist with someone new. For too long we have seen this Anandi as sensible, forgiving, demure. And we associate a lot of depression with the current Anandi. The new track needs a Jhansi ki Rani type Anandi. Confident, spunky, spirited and outspoken.

True! Anandi's character must be OVERHAULED. Her body language, speech, choice - everything needs to change. She needs to stand upright, stop drooping her shoulders or hanging down her head. She needs to walk faster, there has to be not just excitement but a firm resolve and quiet confidence in her eyes. She should stop speaking too sweetly like a child. I think her voice needs to be slightly more mature, with a certain firmness.

We associate Anandi only with childlike innocence, obedience or depression. The character needs major overhaul.

She may not be violent like Jhansi ki Rani. But she needs to exude strength, confidence and self-reliance of Jhansi ki rani! Look at her Teacher ji, she has such a no-nonsense feel about her.

You said a very big thing - ''swap out the artist''. I have always refrained from taking this up. But I wonder if this actress was fit enough to play such a character? Anandi never had to stay childlike and playful all her life. She had to take a stand some day. And I really wonder if this actress can fill the big boots?

Dunno about changing her (I wouldn't mind if she were changed!), but I do feel she needs to work on her body language, posture, voice and way of speaking.

Even Gandhi, Mother Teresa etc., were non-violent social workers and preached love and peaceful methods. But they had a no-nonsense and confident persona. They knew how to get things done. And even people knew that they couldn't take them for a ride or mess with them!

You can radiate a ''don't mess with me'' aura without being aggressive! Anna Hazare in current times, and others like Kiran Bedi, Teesta Setalvad, Irom Sharmila etc., are examples of such social activists and role models of the masses!

I think pratyusha can handle it. She is a very good actress. She is speaking in such a manner because her role is urging her to do this.

When you look at the episodes when she lashes out at Jagya during the time when he is against her studying.

She was really fierce at that time and I am sure she will bring out some of that stuff very soon.

As for some people thinking this show would become a documentary. I think it will not happen. A social worker's/activist's life is full of risks and dangers.

- They face resistance and even violent opposition from orthodox people - all those typical dharam aur samaj ke thekedaar who are scared of losing their authority and power!

- Social workers have to face threats to life and property. Certain social activists in real life, have been stoned to death or even raped for trying to brainwash women or poor people.

- Social work or change is NO cakewalk or child's play!

Their lives are dramatic, full of risks, threats and challenges and at times even spine-chilling!

- DS has given freedom to Anandi in words, but it is still to be seen how comfortable or permissive she will be, when Anandi ACTUALLY starts taking charge of her life and EXERCISES her rights and freedom! DS might still be a road-block in the garb of a well-wisher. Like she opposed her entry to politics and is now reminding her of near impossibility of educating adults or changing their mindset!

- Anandi could face resistance from conservative people in Jetsar itself. Or even opposition from people in neighbouring villages of Jetsar, who want to safeguard their traditions!

- People could dismiss her, shame her in public, accusing her that she's doing all this because she herself is a discarded woman. She's opposing child marriage as her own marriage couldn't be successful! It will be interesting to see if Anandi will be able to handle such personal attacks and barbs or not.
Or if Singh family would be able to handle such insults or backlash against Anandi's radical activism work!

- Anandi could be threatened by corrupt thakurs, sahukars, cops and face resistance and even harassment from them.

- She could get embroiled in a nexus of politics - with certain politicians or TRP-hungry media, trying to cash on her, take advantage of her popularity, make her a pawn. [As the stupid opposition in India, is trying to cash on Anna Hazare's popularity!] Even money-hungry NGOs could try to take advantage of her, or try to malign her.

- Anandi's growing power, influence and apparent success could make GAGA all jealous, frustrated and even guilty. Jagya may start finding himself regretting his decision to ditch her. Gauri might get more mad and insecure. More drama!

- Her story might get picked up and orgs. like UNICEF, UNFPA would give awards to her or feature her story internationally. She might get award from Government of Rajasthan or Government of India for her work.

- From child marriage, Anandi can move to other issues like adult literacy, exploitation of poor by rich, caste system, child labour, sex education for youth, population control, dowry system, domestic violence etc. Many issues can be addressed, not just repetitive theme of child marriage. All issues are inter-linked and all problems fuel each other!

- Seeing her work, some young reporter/lawyer/MLA/cop/social worker might start liking Anandi and wish to marry her. They can show new chapter in her love life too.

- Of course, that loser Jagya and Singh family (basically DS) might feel uncomfortable with Anandi getting married to someone else. They might resist a new guy for her. Anandi's own trauma might make her resist marriage.

- People could try to turn Singhs, especially DS against Anandi for giving that girl too much freedom and setting a bad example for their women. People could mock Anandi's parents too, for putting their girl in stupid activities instead of getting her remarried! It is to be seen how the parents, family deal with these barbs.

Law, politics, family, society, masses - a social worker has to deal with all of them! It's a fight, a struggle. More dramatic than just women crying over a man!

I believe they have ample ways of moving the story forward, making the canvas of the show larger and engaging audience!!

Merely stretching love rectangle or triangle can't keep audience interested or engaged for long.

Even stories on independence or Ramayan/Mahabharat or historical personalities might start looking like lessons in history or documentaries. But it is the narrative which makes them interesting and palatable for audience.

I trust CVs to come up with interesting narrative for BV, make its scope larger, with enough drama coming from society as well as routine characters.

[I hope they take a sensible direction, balancing drama and social relevance. It will be useless if nothing happens except Anandi's remarriage and education!]

As I said, I wish this serial is to TV, what films like RDB and TZP are to cinema. 😊

I know Annika, well said. Awesome story line.

Remember , when BV started they said the childhood of Anandi was only until chapter 5 and it got so popular that it was extended to 2.5 years!

So like you pointed out there are SOOO many chapters and we should keep on writing stuff on the forum as the CVs def visit our forum and read our thoughts. They have said many things we wanted the characters to say and good thing you have brought this up!!!

Thanks. 😊

Yes there are lots of angles, lots of things to be explored, without making it a documentary! There are things which will not add personal conflicts or self-introspection, but also mystery and intrigue, They can keep people guessing what next would happen. There are more than enough ways to even keep viewers on the edge of their seats! I gave just a few examples in my previous post on the last page.

I think you're right, we should keep writing our thoughts in the forum and hopefully the CVs could take note of it.

They have ample opportunity to broaden and expand the canvas of this show, without compromising on routine elements.

In fact, make it more entertaining, interesting and spicier, rather than solely relying on stretching a love triangle like an over-chewed chewing gum!
