Armaan stood there and watched the taxi cab pull out of Sanjeevani's parking lot. He couldn't help but stand there. He felt like he was losing something, something he honestly didn't even know he had. Her words played again in his head, "sacha pyar aur sachi dosti", for a second just for a second he could have sworn Shilpa had that look in her eyes. The look that says, stop me.
A part of him wanted to go and run after her and another part asked why? Why would he, Armaan Malik, go running after Shilpa. Yes she was his friend, but it wasn't like she was his only friend. Yes he did sort of enjoy her pranks, but it wasn't as if he would miss them. Yes he enjoyed teaching her how to fight, but it wasn't something he couldn't live without, then why after all that was he still standing there? Eventually, not knowing what to make of his feelings he decided it was best to go back in and try and take his mind off of his thoughts, his thoughts about her.
He walked past the nurse station and there on the Intern of the Month board he saw her name, he read it aloud, "Shilpa Malhotra". He didn't what it was but something clicked, something changed. It was that feeling you get when you've realized the obvious. But Armaan's problem was that he didn't quite understand what it was that he had just realized. Regardless, he quickly turned to one of the nurses.
A: Sister, jaane se pehle Dr. Shilpa ne aapko kuch kaha, who kahaan jaa rahin hain?
N: nahin Sir, aisa toh kuch nahin kaha.
A: Airpirt gayi hain, railway station gayi hain, bus stop gayi hain?.kuch toh pata hoga aapko?
The nurse shook her head. Armaan looked here and there to try and figure out exactly why he was feeling so impatient right now. He saw Sid walking down the hallway, maybe he knew where she went.
Ar: Sid..oyye Sid?rukh yaar
S: Armaan..kya hua tujhe yaar?
Ar: woh kahaan gayi hai?
S: Riddhima toh kahin nahin gayi?OPT mein shayaad hai
Ar: nahin doosri waali
S: kaunsi doosri waali?
Ar: Sid?Shilpa kahaan gayi hai
S: kyon pooch rahe ho?
Ar: pata nahin
S: usne rok na chahate ho?
Ar: shyaad
S: Armaan?tum jaante ho na ki who tumse pyaar karti hai
Armaan looked up at Sid it wasn't what Sid had just said that scared Armaan. It was the fact that he was not able to completely disagree that petrified him. He had noticed something in the way she looked at him but was always too preoccupied to become aware of it.
Ar: yeh sab baatien baad mein, yeh bata kahaan gayi hai woh?
S: pata nahin.
Ar: KYA?
S: usne kuch bataya nahin
Ar: Sid, yaar sach bata kahaan gayi hai woh?tu jaanta hain na?bas itna bata de ki train station gayi hai yaan bus stop
S: chod yaar, jaane de use
A: Sid?
The way Armaan looked at Sid almost pleading for an answer gave Sid this unwanted pleasure. He knew that the closer Armaan was to Shilpa the better it would be for his marriage but at the same time after having talked to Shilpa he couldn't bear to see her hurt.
A: Sid!
S: Bus?.
Armaan took a deep breath, smiled and ran towards his bike. He got on and was ready to go. All he knew was that he was going to the bus stop, why he was going and what exactly he was going to do when he got there he didn't know. Just like that, fifteen minutes later he was at the stop. He looked around and forgot how hard it was to find someone in a busy bus stop with hundreds of people. At some level he was hoping that he would arrive here, see her and all would fall into place. He had to start somewhere so he decided it was best first to check the waiting area and then the eating joints. While he was looking for her he felt a strange excitement. Every time he saw someone who looked even remotely like Shilpa his heart would skip a beat. "kahaan ho tum" he said to himself. There just had to be better to look for her, he thought. He didn't have the time to look in every single bus at the station to find her though he did definitely have the will to do it. Just as all this was going through his head he saw a familiar face and his whole being was elevated.
Ar: JP! JP!
JP turned around and saw Armaan running towards him.
JP: Armaan bhayia?aap
Ar: Shilpa kahaan hai
JP: aap bhi flowrji ko bye bolne aaye hain
Ar: bye? Abhi toh nahin.
JP: toh phir?
Ar: JP woh kahaan hai?
JP pointed to the bus that was at the very last stop. Armaan turned and began to walk and while he got closer he realized he had no idea of what he was going to say to her or even how he would react when he saw her. Slowly the bus got closer and his heart beat sped up, almost unbearable now. As he got close enough to see the people through the windows his heart leapt. A feeling that he hadn't felt in a long while, he scanned the windows but there was no sign of her. He made his way to the other side and still no sign of her. Now it wasn't as if he was doing something without knowing why, now he knew exactly what he wanted. He wanted to see her, immediately. Armaan made his way into the bus and looking around he realized that she wasn't here. Could it be that JP made a mistake? Was he standing here, in this bus wasting his time while Shilpa was heading off somewhere? The immediacy of wanting to see her quickly turned into a fear of not being able to. He took one deep breath and made his way out of the bus, looking out onto to thousands others, hopeless.
"KYON"
His heart stopped, he knew that voice. Without realizing it, he let out a sigh of relief and tuned to see the source of the voice. There she was, in that beautiful blue suit of hers, fighting the bus driver.
S: Maine kaha na ki yeh bada hai, itna bada suitcase andar kaise fit hoga aap upar rakhiye na
Driver: madam hum upar nahi rakh sakte, toh nahin rakh sakte
S: lekin app?.
Armaan took a step towards, then another until he was close enough that if he extended out his hand he could touch her. She of course did not know this. He looked at her, smiled, and then spoke.
Ar: kyon jaa rahi ho?
-Cheers! (Don't forget to comment, PLEASE)
