hi dear..
just came across ur fic..
simply awsum..
continue soon..
n do add me to ur pm list...
Shilpa looked at him, her eyes wide open, and jaw dropped. She didn't quite understand what was going on or what exactly it was that Armaan intended to do. Her utter confusion soon turned into anger, this joke was not funny.
S: Armaan…bas bahut ho gaya
A: kya ho gaya?
S: this is not funny
A: what's not funny Shilpa
S: yeh jo tum kar rahe ho
A: main kya kar raha hoon
She was definitely not in the mood for these childish arguments. She took a deep breath, huffed a little, rolled her eyes at him and turned around. But obviously given the circumstances sitting still was out of the question. As abruptly as she had turned around she quickly spun around to face him. He looked at her and gave her that very toothy smile of his. She didn't reciprocate the kind gesture rather she scrutinized him with her looks. She didn't know what to say, what to do, how to react and so she did it again, she huffed, snarled at him and turned around. He couldn't help but let out a chuckle.
He tilted his head a little so that he could see the side of her face. It was obvious that she was confused. And to be honest he too was quite confused. He had set out from Sanjeevani to bring Shilpa back, or at least that's what he thought he had wanted to do. Regardless, sitting on the bus and going with Shilpa was definitely not part of the plan. Amidst their silence, the bus driver spoke and announced that they were ready to leave. Just as soon as their departure was announced Shilpa tried as subtly as possible to take a peek at Armaan, was he really coming? He wasn't moving, not at all.
S: bas chal rahi hai…
A: haan shilpa…normally busses chalti hain
S: toh tum aa rahe ho?
A: nahin, hum dono jaa rahen hain…Sanjeevani aane ke liye toh tumne mana kar diya tha…
S: toh tum sach mein aa rahe ho?
A: kyon darr gayi? Ki kaheen bache mujhe tum se zaada na pasand karne lag jayen
S: please….mpossible
A: we'll see
S: we will….aur tum? Tum nahin darr te…Dr. Keerti kya kahen gi?
A: dekha jaye ga…ab toh bus chal padi…no turning back
S: tunhari job chali jaye gi?
A: aise kaise chali jaye gi…armaan malik hoon main
S: haan haan..Armaan malik sab ka Maalik!
Both Armaan and Shilpa chuckled. This was perhaps the first light, easy moment of the entire day. While smiling and trying to contain her laughter Shilpa was amazed by the turn this day had taken, she had said goodbye to Armaan, to the man she was probably madly in love with him just this morning. She was convinced that she had seen the last of him she had broken her heart this morning. And yet there he was sitting right behind her and laughing alongside her.
A: hasti hui achi lagti ho ….
Just like that it was back, that feeling, that magnetic pull, that charm, she couldn't let him do it. Having feelings for Armaan and having to live with those feelings was the most painful thing Shilpa had ever done. She had forced herself to accept the reality, the reality in which Armaan was in love with someone else. She had closed off her heart, and there was just no way she was going to let Armaan charm his way back in. Realizing that with every word he spoke and every response she gave, the feelings were coming back. She couldn't, just could not let that happen. She looked at him looking at her, eye to eye, took a deep breath and turned around. The last few minutes had been an emotional roller coaster, from heart break to anger, to confusion, to laughter, to heartbreak again and now to sheer and utter confusion. Shilpa thought to herself, if the reality that she had accepted was true than what on earth was Armaan Malik doing sitting in the seat behind her?
He too was confused. Even while they were talking to one another all Armaan could think of was what he was doing and why he was doing it? He tried to come up with a few explanations but none of them seemed satisfactory. First, he decided that he was going with Shilpa because there was no way he could let a girl travel on her own. That reason didn't really stick. Then he thought he was going not for Shilpa but for himself. He needed to get away from Sanjeevani he needed to get some fresh air. This reason, although a good one, didn't quick register either. If he couldn't even believe it himself than why would anyone else buy into it?
Amidst his thoughts, he caught a glimpse of Shilpa through the space between the seats. He could see that she was sad, more importantly he could see that she was hurt. In his gut he knew that he was responsible, it was because of him her sadness was his fault. He remembered the vivacious Shilpa that had fought of goons on her own, the Shilpa that had put Armaan behind bars, the Shilpa who had played pranks on him day in and day out. What happened to her he thought? And at that very moment, Sid's words came running through his mind, "…tu jaanta hain na ki Shilpa tujhse pyaar karti hai". Which was followed by Shilpa words this morning, when she was leaving she had pretty much admitted how hard it was for her to around him, how hard it was for her to be away from him. And with that he had found his answer, he knew why he was on this bus. He was here because unknowingly and perhaps unwillingly Shilpa had asked this of him. The look on her face this morning in the cab and the way she had looked at him through the window of the bus was more than enough to tell him that she didn't want to see him go. And to be honest he had to admit that he too didn't want her to go. He didn't exactly know what he felt for Shilpa, but he did know that whatever that feeling was, it was worth fighting for. There was no way in hell that he would just let her walk away.
The silence that followed was lethal. Armaan tried his best to think of something to say just so that he wouldn't have to think anymore but nothing seemed good enough. From whatever he could see of her, he knew that she felt the same way. There were many moments when it seemed that Shilpa would turn around and speak but she resisted each time. Armaan too had been resisting the urge to speak but no more. A four hour bus ride in complete silence was not possible. He took a deep breath and in an instant went and sat beside Shilpa. She was startled.
S: Armaan!
A: kya hua?
She couldn't find words.
A: kuch toh bole…..
S: tum kya kar rahe ho?
A: kuch bhi toh nahin, main toh chup chaap bhetha hoon
S: tum yahaan kyon bhethe ho?
A: bas aise hi…koi problem hai?
S: nahin…bas woh…
A: kya?
S: kuch nahin
A: waise bhi main peeche akele bore ho raha tha
Shilpa was amazed at how normal Armaan had been acting. And no matter how hard she had been fighting the feeling, she couldn't help but think that Armaan was here because he cared, he was here because he didn't want to leave her. She meant something to him, no she meant a lot to him, these thoughts somehow made her oblivious to the fact that she was now grinning like a 12 year old girl.
A: chalo meri aisi halat se hi par tum hassi toh…
S: tumhari halat pe nahin…tumahri iss shakal pe hassi…
A: par hassi na…
S: haan hassi.
They smiled at one another.
A: ab yeh batao…aur kitni der iss bus mein bheth na hai.
S: do ghante..
A: DO GHANTE…yaar tum gaadi se kyon nahin jaati…yaan bike se
As they continued to talk about a wide range of things, from foods they like, to books, to movies to other people Shilpa felt the butterflies in her stomach once again. That same old girly feeling one gets when one's heart is slowly being taken away. As for Armaan, the best part about his thoughts was that there weren't any, he wasn't thinking about anything, he was just having a good fun conversation with a fun girl he knew. She was smiling, he was smiling and they were both surprisingly happy. The chatter and laughter was rudely interrupted by a phone call. It was Armaan's he reached for his phone and saw the name on the display. Shilpa too saw the name and seeing the effect it had on Armaan pretty much throttled all those butterflies in her stomach.
