Do not trust the ladkiwale, they will pop someone else under the ghunghat. Insist you are a modern family and are against ghunghat. This is the only way you can be sure your dear brother or son is marrying the right girl and not a switcheroo.😕

The ghungat is probably a Hindu wedding practice largely restricted to North India, and developed during the Delhi Sultanate era.

In South India, it is non-existent, during weddings or as part of daily life, at least among Hindus.
