LAST TWO EPISODES: KESAR ON ANGER MANAGEMENT
The previous episode showed how Gulaal was making Kesar realize that anger would not help him and he needs to have a control and check on his anger and act wisely. The scene prior to that was really fun-filled when both of them acted like two school kids and made the cook flee the scene. I liked how Kesar uses Talli's name to trap her and knowingly she falls into it.
Loved the scene where Gulaal tells Kesar to have a check on his anger. Kesar was all ready with his sleeves rolled up to defend her if anyone spoke against her. But Gulaal's one statement that his behavior mattered to her and not anything to do with what the world speaks about them, made him realize that his behavior affected her. We could hear him ask innocently why people spoke ill about another and he can't bear to hear anything bad about her. Loved the expression there with a 'Koi tere bare me kuch kehta hai toh…Sssh…."
Gulaal made him realize the importance of acting wise while Kesar made her realize that her smile and happiness mattered to him most. In fact, both are learning from each other. That is what we call as "growing old together" by learning from each other.
Another scene in the previous episode that I loved watching was how Kesar realized that Gulaal might go into depression on hearing Vasant's name and hence cheered her up, made her accept the challenge with a quick "Chalo, accha hua".
When he turns away from her he is holding his smile with a naughty gleam in his eyes but the minute he tirns towards her, he is pursing his lips so that she can't realize he is trapping her into being partner in crime. And ofcourse she forgot about Vasant and only the smile lingered on her face thinking about Kesar and his pranks.
MAHAEPISODE SPECIAL
KESAR ON MOTABA'S DECISION
Kesar was concerned about Gulaal. He had seen in the past how uncomfortable she feels being constantly reminded of being his wife. He was not so much in favor of Gulaal abiding Motaba's decision. I like the way Kesar has decided to maintain civility with Dushyant as he handed over the phone to him. The scene was refreshing when Dushyant asked who was on the other end and Kesar says he doesn't know. Seeing him tense, Kesar goes to the extent of asking if everything was fine and Dushyant lays his doubts to rest and just excuses himself to do his share of detective work. I liked Neil and Sushant's scene together; it showed a gradual bonding between Kesar and Dushyant in spite of the past events.
Kesar is too honest. He spoke the truth that Talli is buying jewellery because according to Kesar, Talli has gone with Kunal to buy the wedding ring and does not lie saying Talli is with Sudha Babhi.
KESAR ON THE LIGHTINGS
Kesar walks in as though he is supervising all arrangements because he had promised that he and Gulaal would take care of everything. He tries to brag around and make his importance felt saying nothing works well in his absence. Gulaal attempted to explain but stopped seeing Kesar boasting around. Just like how the squabbling about the menu happened that made Mishri ba run for life, the poor guy was made to go up and down the ladder. He also threatened him " aap utar rahe ho ya mei utaroon" Having lost to her, he decides to speak directly to the owner when Gulaal in her own way makes him realize that the function that was to happen in the morning does not need lighting.
I love Neil's expressions there, with sudden dawning of the fact, slight irritation at his own self for acting foolish that he finally took out his irritation on the guy asking him why he couldn't alert him before and if anyone would have lightings for the daytime function. That frustration at his own folly was shown on her because she was laughing so he decided to point out if she is going to laugh whole day and claim she had been working.
KESAR GULAAL MOMENT
It was the beginning of the closeness between Kesar and Gulaal. Kesar had forgotten to pick Talli and wants to be saved from Sudha's anger. Before Gulaal met Sudha, he cupped her mouth to prevent her from talking and dragged her to a corner where he would not be noticed. I liked how Gulaal was letting out a scream within, holding his hand to free herself from his hold. Poor Kesar was too worried about Sudha's wrath that he hardly realized that his touch was having such a drastic effect on Gulaal. He waited for an approval from her, but looking into her eyes, it made him realize for a second how close they were and at the same time, she withdrew her hand from his hold. That left him in a tight spot, he felt awkward, and did not know how to react though he had quickly removed his hands away from her mouth. Thankfully, Gulaal managed it well and said she would tell lies and very conveniently they went back to the conversation, he was pleading with her in all his innocence, "Mere liye, Talli ke liye and still managed to brush her shoulders with a "please, please" attitude and ran off to pick Talli.
KESAR WITH SARUPHUI
The bonding between Saruphui and her brothers were really good, especially I liked how GigaKaka seated himself on the ground close to her. Kesar walks in silently instructing Talli to keep mum about the meeting with Kunal. Saruphui has arrived one day earlier so Kesar has no idea who the new guest is. I like his expression there when he asks with his eyes as to who it was and then having been introduced walks to her with all love and respect and hugs her. The bonding was too good. I liked Saruphui's expression when she first gets a glimpse of Kesar because he is all grown up now and that is how usually elders react when they see a person whom they have once seen as a small child. It was sweet how she was sweet talked into retiring for a while and Motaba helped her as she got up.
Kesar kept hearing what all Saruphui had to tell Gulaal and that love and affection for her overflowed in his eyes when he was silently hearing them. It was one more elderly meber speaking out what all Gulaal had to go through and how she held the amily together in spite of all odds. The sadness over Vasant's loss was only momentary for Gulaal and she quickly composed herself. When Saruphui called him in, he was brought out of his reverie as he walked in. Again we could see some true bonding between them as he sits close to her and rightfully claims his gift having heard she is distributing it to everyone. There was some child like innocence as he said that because Kesar is the youngest member of this family and is everyone's favorite. Actually I could see for once the warmth in Gulaal's eyes for Kesar as she heard Kesar claim his gift as well as when Saruphui spoke to him so fondly. I also liked how Gulaal was after all caressing the little Krishna idol. Usually this is the gift given to newly married couple wishing them to have a child like Krishna/Balgopal.
Kesar agrees it is his aim to care for Gulaal forever but seeing her reaction he rephrases it saying he would attempt to keep Gulaal happy, always. Am I hallucinating or did I see Gulaal giving out a shy smile when she hears that from him.
KESAR GULAAL IN THEIR ROOM
The longer Kesar stayed in the room on Gulaal's request, Gulaal was getting more conscious. The whole day they can play pranks at each other and they can't afford to start a topic of conversation for a little while longer during the night. Kesar was open about the issue and hence asked her to sleep since there was no point in both of them staying awake. Probably he meant he would leave the room a little later but she could go to sleep. Madam Gulaal is all to conscious of Kesar in the room that she prefers to stay awake, drink some water, or whatever that suited her to remain awake.
I think it has been a while Kesar has settled in the balcony for the nights. Wonder where he goes when it rains. He was blissfully sleeping when he is awakened by his Phui. He is too shocked. She was the last one he would have wished to see in the middle of the night. The eyes show the tiredness of half-sleepy eyes as well as the shock yet he has the presence of mind to ask "Haan Phui". He hesitated, gave a weak reasoning but was dragged to his room.
Gulaal herself is surprised by the turn of events, but Kesar has already given up and does not even bother to retaliate or explain. He knows it would be futile. So he just gives a resigned look at Gulaal. Both of them quietly take in the scolding and chiding. When Phui leaves asking them to resolve issues, Gulaal first asks Kesar to sleep on the bed. Now what can we say. Kesar can't put her in trouble and decides to sleep sitting on the chair. Now in his presence in the room, Gulaal is too very conscious that she prefers to sit and doze off. Kesar is also too sleepy, the tiredness shows on his face having been sleeping in the sitting position.
Kesar being his sweet self sees her in this posture and walks to her to quietly put a pillow under her head, cupping his mouth lest he wakes her up. Seeing her slowly open her eyes, he quickly withdraws his hand. Of late, both have become conscious of each other's touch. But I never noticed that in yesterday's scene when they both drag each other to the mirror. Like Kesar told her, it is Gulaal who is constantly reminded of his love, his presence and his touch even if he acts normal.
KESAR AT BREAKFAST TABLE
Kesar is happy at the same time worried over Phui's comment that Gulaal makes delicious food for her husband.All of them have changed but Gulaal is still in the same costume even on the next day. Wasn't she wearing the same lehenga and Chunar when Phui arrived, when the flowers were set up and next day morning for Breakfast she still wears the same.
Kesar is all happy listening to Phui praising Gulaal. And then comes the shocker for Kesar and Gulaal. Their child will inherit Phui's property. We all know that neither Kesar nor Gulaal would be interested in her property. But the issue of forwarding their "khaandaan" looms large in front of them.
