Yeh kaisi arranged marriage hai?? btw…I am not liking this chashmish...either he is a bad actor, or he is pretending to be nice…lets c…😕) (Pls note he has come with a sidey guy who has neither said a word, nor been introduced…so the pt in him being here😕….human filler since he obviously cannot be family…😆family toh dr nei involve hi nahi kiya!!!😉) Dadi agrees with him!! (Hai?!!😲i didn't leave India that long ago that ppl of Dadi's generation are agreeing to such soch!!!)The doctor clarifies that he is a divorcee. Dadaji says he is aware of it. Laxmi comes all decked up in red sari worn in seedha palla. Kaveri introduces them & asks Randal to get tea. The doctor greets them but says no need for formalities as he wants to meet Laxmi first. Once everything gets clarified, only then they will take things to the next stage! (Yeh doctor kya cheez hai??!!! 😡Kaha se aaya hai?? What clarifications does he want?? 🤢He is too forward for my liking…haye re daiyya…mai toh buddhai gayi!😆) Dadaji agrees & asks Laxmi to talk to him. Laxmi is apprehensive but Kaveri nods in agreedment. Dont know why the camera panned Shobna with evil bg playing.
The doctor & Laxmi go to the next room. The doctor, jo bolta bahut hai…says that I don't want to know anything about your past, but just want to tell you about myself & know about u. He says he got divorced within 2 months of marriage as their(his first wife & his) thoughts didn't match. He recites his biodata & says that he is happy that Purohit parivaar is open-minded as they have thought about their daughter's second marriage. Laxmi clarifies that she is the daughter-in-law of this house. He enquires about her native place & she says she is from Dharigram, a small village in Gujarat. She says her dad is there only. He asks whether she is a house wife or a working lady. Laxmi says that she cant understand English as she has studied just till class 7 (Phew!! That explains y she cud sign on the divorce papers…mere mann mei yeh sawaal bahut dino se tha!) Dr. takes off his glasses & passes a sidey comment on girls not being allowed to study in today's age too. Laxmi says I've told u the truth. I am trying to learn at home, but will take a long time to reach your level. The doctor is impressed with her honesty & says he has learnt whatever he wanted to know about her & they should go now. Uttang who was eavesdropping 😲😆 runs out & informs the rest of the clan, that they are coming. Shobna asks what were u doing there? 😃 Uttang says I was just standing there, did not hear anything. They stood up before I could hear anything. However, from the guy's face, it looks as if the marriage is on. Uttang is cute, yaar!!
Dadaji asks the doctor, how did u like Laxmi & our family. Doctor says that he is very happy to meet the family & Laxmi is also v nice & sanskaarik(well brought up). However, he refuses the alliance. All are shocked. Dadaji asks for clarification. Doctor says that he didn't know about Laxmi being low educated & she will not fit in his lifestyle. He leaves. All except Shobna & Tej are upset. When Kaveri offers support to Laxmi, Laxmi says I did say that I did say that I didn't want to get married, didn't want to meet any groom. He didn't say anything wrong. I am not educated. I don't understand the modern thoughts or ways either. Why will anyone get married to me? He questions apart from Sanskaar what does Laxmi have that any educated person will marry her? Laxmi is more shocked than others! 😆(so, she was indulging in self-pity, but hearing it from someone else's mouth made it more real…toot rahi hai bechari!😭) Mahen signals Angad to shut up while Shobna is proud of her sapoot!😡 Angad continues his rant that she doesn't know how to talk or wear clothes properly or fit in society. Wow..he is on a roll…ab pyaar kiya na iske saath…mai tujhe yeh sab yaad dilaaoongi!!abhi chup kar!!😡 He ends saying this is the bitter truth that no one will want to marry Laxmi the way she is. Dadi finally says Angad! Angad says I don't regret what I said. He further adds insult by saying that Laxmi is not worthy of anyone. Iski toh...!! Dejected, Laxmi walks away. Kaveri reprimands Angad. Angad says just think about what I said & you will realize I wasn't wrong. She needs a complete makeover. Dadi asks him what do you want to say? hmm...🤓 isnt Makeover a self-explanatory word??or mebe, she doesnt know the meaning of the word!🤡 Angad says that Laxmi will have to change according to the modern world. She is living in baba adam's world😆…she will have to be converted into 21st century girl. In today's hi-tech world, Laxmi's world is limited to just the kitchen. 👏 How will she be able to adjust? Her ways need to be modernized. Shobna is now annoyed with Angad's implications. 👍🏼 Mahen agrees that Laxmi is in need of further education. Kaveri says this will take a long time. Angad takes responsibility of changing Laxmi within 1 month. Shobna & Tej…picture of exasperation!! 😆 Mahen & Dadaji agree to help Angad out. Kaveri says who will convince Laxmi? Laxmi is sitting in front of the dressing table, recalling Angad's harsh words & crying. She agrees with all the insults hurled at her, but says that Angad could have told me earlier. She further says but I am like this only. Angad comes in saying that's the problem. (he is like a bhoot...present everywhere at the same time!)You shouldn't be like this! Laxmi wipes her tears & he asks what were you saying to yourself in the mirror? She walks away. He persists that you were complaining about me? at least accept that you are angry with me! Laxmi says nothing like that. Angad says stop running from the truth, as you will end up running from yourself. Baccha log taali bajaao...dialogue maaraa! The rest of the convo is such a home truth about today's world!! Meri waatt lag gayi!! Complaining in front of the mirror will not yield anything. If you really felt bad then tell me that you will change yourself, prove yourself. Laxmi looks at him. He says, "Don't look at me. Look at yourself & ask whether or not you should change? Move with times?" Laxmi says I am good as I am & sits on the bed. Angad sits next to her. He says, "ok, you are good, but that's not enough. You have to be presentable too. The old days when people would look inside your heart to say whether or not you were beautiful, have gone. In today's world what is visible is the main thing. Despite being bad, some people pretend to be good. So whats your problem? I didn't say anything to hurt you nor do I ask you to let go of your principles. Just when you are good, why cant u look good too? I can write a thesis about this, with pros & cons..but end of the day, what he says is true. No one asks whether u have a pure heart, no one wants to even know you in today's world, till u r either attractive or well presented. I am learning this the hard way currently...😭 Isne Laxmi ko nahi mujhe life ka fact samjhaaya!! so kudos to him & dialogue writers.👏Laxmi starts saying something but Angad cuts her off & requests her to follow his instructions. He says he will support her. She nods.
Next day morning, Laxmi is praying in front of Tulsi maiyya. She says that I don't know where my life will take me, but I will follow the path shown by you with full faith & belief. I am sure you will lead my path always. Someone calls for her.
She goes into a room (cud b Angad's room...not sure) Randal, Uttang, Angad & Mahen are there together. She looks past them at a whiteboard which has topics like grooming, manners, English speaking, haircut etc written all around Laxmi's name. Uttang welcomes her to the newly opened personal grooming school meant just for Laxmi. 😉 She is confused & questions. Angad says Miss Question mark 🤣 from now on, we will question & you will answer. Since its your first day, so I will answer your question. He points to the whiteboard and says that this is a list of the changes that you will go through & they will begin this journey from today itself. He points to each individual in the room & says Mahen bhai, Uttaang, Randaal & he will be her teachers. Mahen bhai will improvise on your English, Randal will change your dresses & overall look. He continues that he, Angad, will be in charge of the overall like a principal. (abbey..Uttaag kya karega??!!!usko muft mei teacher kyu banayaa??😛) He reminds her that he is a strict principal. He adds, that she will have to follow each & every instruction with undivided attention. Mahen chips in that if you don't give your all to our lessons, then we might punish you. Uttaang says that if you people do everything, then what will I do (Good boy…I was wondering the same!!😆) Angad goes upto him & puts his hand on his shoulder asking him whether he has never been to school. Uttang says he has. Anagad continues that in a school apart from teachers & students there are peons too .Randal suppresses her laugh! (oh!! I still see a potential Randal-Angad track...yeh kya ho raha hai mujhe?!!🥺) Uttaang is glum , while Laxmi has a good laugh.
