GOOD looks can ONLY get you so far, did it HURT?

😭 Everyone thinks GOOD looks can get your career in the fastlane. Sure, it helps. But, the fact is that your acting does not get taken seriously and this is no longer the case. John Abraham, Salman Khan, Arjun Rampal, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, etc.?! What do these people have in common? GOOD looks got their career into the fastlane, but still to this day, they are questioned on their acting abilities. That is a shame because they have been around so long. Why do they have to still answer to critics despite being around so long in the industry?!!
Please share your thoughts. GOOD looks can ONLY get you so far, did it HURT? 😲

I don't think someones good looks should be blamed for bad acting.

John Abraham despite being a pretty face just canNOT act.
Aishwarya's an in-between-ie, she's a decent actress given that she's provided with a good director and script. Her talents are suited for a few roles. Same goes for Hrithik, I would think .. his looks are talked about a lot but his acting is usually appreciated by some.
And then we have people like Katrina - super pretty, super gorgeous one of Bollywoods biggest superstars and yet she cannot act .. but still look how far she's made it! I don't think her looks have hurt her at all.

Good looks help. . .of course. But these days if you can't act but you look good then that works. It's fine. Its all about luck...some people are just born with lots of luck at their side. For example, Katrina. Gorgeous girl...Such a beautiful face...a hottie...one of the big superstars of bollywood. BUT...she can not act. She just can't. Or at least...she hasn't done anything yet that has made me think she can act. But no one can deny what she has done and how far she has come. Of course, she is hardworking and all but she can't act. Her looks play a big factor on where she is today. Luck as well. Her looks have definitely not hurt her...its only been an advantage.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

Salman should not be in that list..the guy can act but he just refuses to and that is what annoys me! He was fab in tere naam and I guess thats the only last movie I remember where he did something different!

Arjun has also improved tremendously!! I believe no one are born actors..they need a certain amount of experience to get it perfect and also the right director to get the best out of them!!

there have been a lot of people who entered the industry with their looks to back them, and struck total gold, at least for awhile

but then there are others who did the same and didn't quite prosper. Dia Mirza, Riya Sen, Dino Morea... all hot and sexy and everything but not much worked out for them.

Only having good looks doesn't hurt I suppose, Katrina can testify, but yes, if you consistently choose roles that don't really show signs of great improvement, you WILL be questioned, and that is fair.
I feel that its fair because there are SO. MANY. people out there who are actual actors, but never get a break because they can't model in lingerie or whatever.

It is slightly unfair that actors can't be actors, because models are clogging up their opportunities.
