Mahie ready to take on Katrina
There is an unusual clash happening at the box office. While MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN was announced ages ago, the sudden release plans for SAHIB, BIWI AUR GANGSTER, the film which would now be arriving on the same day, has come as a surprise for many out there.
''Suddenly 9th September is turning out to be the hottest of them all,'' says a trade analyst, ''First MAUSAM as well as ROCKSTAR tried to make it their own hence resulting in a three way battle between young guns Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan. Just when these two films opted out of the competition, it is now SAHEB BIWI AUR GANGSTER which has set its eye on the same day.''
While makers of ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA have confirmed that they won't budge from the spot that they had finalised months ago, even SAHEB BIWI AUR GANGSTER team is game for the challenge that lies ahead.
''In fact our theatrical promo is already out with ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA and we have no intentions to look back from here,'' says a source connected to the film, ''We have definite plans in place instead of making any random calls. We finished the film early this year and wanted the best release timing for ourselves.''
When contacted, Mahie confirmed plans for the film. ''Yes, I have been informed by my producer that as of now, the film would release on 9th September. We have already showcased the film's First Look this weekend. The reactions have of course been overwhelming.''
Now this sounds exciting. After all while Kat's 'dulhan' act is expected to be cute and bubbly, Mahie is said to have upped the erotic quotient in her sensual 'biwi' act. It would be interesting to see how Mahie's 'royal threesome' (as the film's tagline goes) with Jimmy Sheirgill and Randeep Hooda takes on Kat's double play (with Imran Khan and Ali Zafar) this September.
