Pooja's research work paid off well!
Akash Wadhwa, TNN | Jun 19, 2011, 01.21pm IST Actress Pooja Gor who plays an Allahabadi girl in the serial Pratigya still remembers her excitement when she was offered to play the role of a girl from Allahabad in the serial.
"A well educated girl who belongs to a small town but still remains rooted to her culture, Allahabad is the apt city for the theme. Whenever one talks about education, the first city that comes to mind is Allahabad which has produced one of the finest poets Harivansh Rai Bachchan," she says.
"I still remember the time the days when I was shooting in Allahabad for the serial and side by side I also did my research work for the character. When I interacted with the educated girls who were either married or working, I was amazed to see how well behaved and cultured they were. The city women had so much to offer to women all over. Not only did I brought those mannerism in my reel life but also in my real life. Hats off to the city which makes me what I am today!" she exclaims.
