Hi fellow RBOians!
Haven't made a topic in a while and saw that nobody had posted anything for Father's Day, so thought i would do something along those lines - and to keep it related to RBO, use this thread as a kind of tribute to our very own Sunil Khandelwal, but also a place for us to post our wishes for our own fathers and what they mean to us etc. 😊
So i'll start by talking about Sunil... for me Sunil is the best father (and in-law) on television right now! His relationship with his sons and DIL's is so touching and real, and Aliraza ji's portrayal of the character is just amazing! 👏 ⭐️
Perfect example of the same is the Shaan-Sunil conversation we got to see in Friday's episode. The pure joy on his face when he see's Shaan name on the caller ID, the look of contentment when hears his voice and the conversation that follows is classic Sunil Khandelwal who encompasses so many traits of being a great father! 😊
He acknowledges Akshay's drive and determination, reassures Shaan that what he is doing is right and a worthwhile cause and knows that with Khanak besides Shaan, he doesn't need to worry because Khanak is the one person who is able to give his son the strength and courage he needs to carry through on his promise! Simple scene, yet it conveyed so much! <3
True, he and Shaan had their issues and he wasn't always there for Shaan during his childhood, but it's hard to blame him for that when he was trying to secure a future for his sons... and i think it adds a realistic element to their relationship too. I can never forget how he stood by Khanak in the earlier episodes too. He also played a big hand in Shanak coming together, so you gotta love him for that alone! 😆
Now onto my father, a man so influential and dear to me that i wrote a poem in his honour! As follows...
The day I was born, I was given a generous gift by God
Everyone's eyes were on me, he just simply looked on
With a blissful smile spread across his contented face
He watched the scene before him, preparing to embrace
A journey that would see him through many highs and lows
A relationship so special that touches the depths of our souls.
There when I took my first step, he held my small hand in his
He gave me the support I needed, a constant from here-on in
That was just the beginning of all he continues to do for me
His love, wisdom and guidance inspire the journey before me
Unparalleled is his kindness, I truly am one of the blessed
To have in my life a father who is undoubtedly the best.
Honestly speaking, words fail me whenever i try to convey what my parent's mean to me, but this was a small attempt by me for my dad! 😳
