To start off with I shall say - " This forum NEVER ceases to amaze me".
The main point of discussion of this topic - The zillionth times Shilpa Anand and Jennifer Winget has been pittied against each other, in numerous comparision topics.
What I have never been able to understand is WHY do these two ladies need to be compared each and everytime? WHY is there ever a NEED to compare?
I for one, believe that there's absolutely NO point in comparing two different individuals in any aspect.Be it in any field.Tell me how, two persons with different capabilties be compared?
There's a rule in this forum which gets applied to every member by default -
If you like KaJen, then you automatically dislike KaSh/KaSu/Other couples.
If you like KaSh, then you automatically dislike KaJen/KaSu/Other couples.
Like wise, if you are a KaShian, you are already at a war with KaJenians.
And again, if you are a KaJenian, you are at war with KaShian without even having the knowledge of why these two groups are at war in the first place.And I hope one day, it shall fade away.
The condition of the forum is such that, the moment you enter you are sorted into groups, there is no such place for the ones who are actually prefers being neutral.I have never been able to really understand the reason behind the animosity which exists between these two groups.
As I was saying, WHY do we need to compare Shilpa Anand and Jennifer Winget?
Both these actresses who played Riddhima, have different capabilities, different skills, different personality.
Shilpa Anand - who essayed the role of Riddhima, the very first Riddhima, the original Riddhima.She has showed her potential in whatever character she played.No doubt, she gave Riddhima the initail push, made the viewers love the character, and the character inturn gave her recognition.Till the time she played Riddhima,she's done it beautifully.
Jennifer Winget - when she stepped in as Riddhima, she was bound to be compared with the previous actresses who played Riddhima.And yet, she proves her mettle with good her acting skills, and once again made viewers love the character Riddhima.
Take an example here, SRK is reffered as the King Khan of Bollywood, but does that mean Salman Khan cant act? No, people do it mainly because SRK has more hits to his credit.
But this does not take away the credit for what they are known for - Good Acting Skills.
Or take real life example here, a student excels at mathematics, but does that mean he isnt good at English? No, it means he has a slight edge over in mathematics.
Just as in Shilpa and Jen's case, just because one has played Riddhima very well doesnt mean the other cant or that one is superior over the other.It just means they are different, and different in a good way.
The two very important parts of a show/play/film are the - start and end.
Now that DMG's over, I can say that Shilpa gave Riddhima a beautiful start and Jennifer gave it a beautiful end.(Though I admit the story is equally important, but whatever harm or good was done to it was the job of thr creatives and the actors arent responsible)
Personally, I have liked Shilpa ever since the start of the show and Jen ever since she started playing Riddhima.Both these actresses have played Riddhima's character they way it was needed.Both were and are beautiful in their own way's and hence I dont find the need to compare them.Whom you like more or dislike is a matter of perspective and should be left to one's ownself, rather than indulging in bashing, or comparing the actors.
Since this is a public forum, everyone has a right to express their own opinions.
But the way you do it matters, you can always express opinions/criticism in a decent manner.
I guess that's all I had to say.
ShiJen - You both are different and yet good in whatever you do.So, keep it up :)
P.S : The topic wasnt intended to offend any of the groups.
Please do not take it in the wrong sense.I have friends from both these groups, and they are all very dear to me.
