Thank you friends for all your lovely comments!!! I apologize for not being able to reply to each one of you personally but it all does mean a lot to me me.. specially cause i'm no writer... I know i have been saying this but beleive me its just to remind you lot 😉

Part 2

Geet and Maan reached Mumbai around 11:30 am in the morning. Mr Mehra had already arranged for a car and a driver for them to escort them to office for the registration. Geet was surprised as she assumed that property thing was just an excuse by Maan to get her to Mumbai. She was surprised that Maan was actually buying a property for her and that too at a place where they might travel the least in future. At least she thought so. As they reach the registration office Geet whispers to Maan

Geet: Maan... what's the need to buy a property here? I mean I thought that this was just an excuse to get out of Amritsar.

Maan (acknowledges back in the same tone): It's a gift from Mr Khurana to Mrs Khurana, and you don't say no to a gift Geet...

Geet: But why this gift all of a sudden

Maan: Nothings all of a sudden. Now enough of your questions!!! First sign these documents here and let's get going. I can answer all your questions later. We will have enough time for the grilling session.

Geet (grinding her teeth): You better be ready with your answers for the session Mr Khurana? Or else?

Maan (raising his eyebrows closes on Geet and whispers bending in her ears): or else?

Geet shudders with the sudden closeness between them and that too in an office like place with people all around them. With embarrassment taking over her nerves she thinks of coming up with an answer soon before the ground beneath loosens to hold her but she just manages...

Geet: Soch ke bataungi...

Maan smirks. It took some time for all the paperwork to be done. Once all the formalities were completed, Maan and Geet get going to the bungalow. On reaching the place Maan places the keys in Geet hands. Go ahead Mrs Khurana. Open and check out your new house.

Geet is about to say something when Maan places a finger on her lips, not allowing her to speak.

Maan: I know you have loads of questions that are creating havoc in your mind but first I want you to open the door and check out your new house.

A smile creeps up on her lips. She turns towards the door and opens it up entering in a well-furnished hallway. She looks around the entire place. It's not as massive as the Khurana mansion but a small and beautiful place. Exactly in front of the entrance is a huge door covered with satin drapes. Wondering what awaits her she moves the drapes only to be welcomed by the most amazing view of the sea. She opens the door to step out to the neatly maintained garden with railings all around covered with the most exquisite green climbers and a swimming pool towards the left. A swing by the right followed with some garden furniture, a grand parasol and a couple of lounge chairs, a place where one could relax and enjoy the view. Just when the garden ends one could see the beach start. It seemed to be a private beach area. Geet couldn't stop admiring the feel and the beauty of the entire place. Exactly on top of the garden entrance was a patio. Geet stood near the garden railing taking in the scenic view that nature had to offer. Just then Maan comes and hugs her from behind encircling his arms around her waist.

Maan: How do you like the place?

Geet (smiling and holding both his hands with hers): Its beautiful... Just feels like a dream home... Now Mr Khurana don't you think you owe tons of answers?

Maan: Is it?? and to whom?

Geet (irritated snaps out of Maan's embrace): Maan!!!

Maan: Accha baba!!! Suno toh (holds her back)... Khurana constructions are already a huge name in Delhi and also dealing with some international projects in UK. However, in our board meeting the directors decided that we needed to make our presence felt nationally. So according to our new strategic planning the board has decided that we take up some projects in the metropolitan cities around India. Our first target is Mumbai. For the same reasons I visited Mumbai a couple of times. That was around our marriage time if you remember. Now, the last time around I was here I saw this place and loved it. At the same instant I decided that I shall buy it for you as a gift for your birthday. Since I would be travelling here quite often and as you know I cannot stay without my Mishti even for a day. So goes without saying that you would be with me (blinks).

The deal and everything was finalized but I wanted you to sign these papers on your birthday which is

Geet: next month...

Maan: Exactly!!!

Geet: Then why now?

Maan (in a serious tone now): Geet kal jab tumhe udhas aur pareshan dekha toh mujhse raha nahi gaya aur sahi bhi to hai. Its hardly been sometime to our marriage and we have already gone through so much. Our life has been no less than a roller coaster ride. And we rarely got a chance to spend some quality time with each other.

Geet: And I have been responsible for that... I'm sor...

Maan (places a finger on her lips): Shhh... Nahi!!! Its not just you or just me... Its both of us.. We both have been responsible for that. Our communication has been responsible for that. Hum ek dusre se behad pyaar karte hai aur yeh bhi jaante hai ki hum ek durse ke bagair reh nahi sakte. Haina?

Geet nods: hmm...

Maan: Probably that's the only reason that we take each other for granted. Magar pyaar ke saath ham eek dusre ko samajhna bhi to hai... Aur shayad hum ek dusre ko ab tak woh waqt de hi nahi paaye hai.. hum ek dusre se khul ke baat nahi kar paaye hai.. hum ek dusre ka nazariya nahi samajh paaye hai... Geet... Believe me I too want a world just for the two of us, no one else around just you and me... We need to become invisible to this world (blinks)

Geet (smiling): Toh phir?

Maan: I dialled Mr Mehra and made provisions to take possession of this bungalow a month before the decided date. So that I can spend sometime with my Mishti and we can be invisible.

Geet: Only to this world (blinks)

Maan (pulls her back in his embrace): Of course. Only to this world.

Geet: Thank you

Maan: Not so soon

Geet (pulling back from him embrace): Matlab?

Maan (hesitant): Matlab... I have a meeting to attend... It would take me atleast 3-4 hours.

Geet: And how exactly does that make us invisible Maan... Aapka kaam toh yahan bhi aapka peecha nahi chodta' Pehele registration ne saari subeh le li aura b aap ki yeh meeting.

Maan: Sorry Geet par main kya karu.. Kai dino se office nahi ja paaya hoon aur aaj jab Mumbai aaya hoon to yaha office mein jana zaroori hai'

Geet (acting upset): Theek hai jaayiye..

Maan: Mishti aise naaraaz mat ho plz...

Geet enjoying Maan buttering her up turns her back to him

Maan: Accha theek hai tumhe naaraaz karke mujhe kahin nahi jaana...

Geet (turns around instantly): Are Maan! Main to mazaak kar rahi thi... Aap jaayiye aur jaldi se kaam khatam karke aayiye...

Maan: Pakka...

Geet: Pakka... Magar sirf aaj ki hi ejazat hai... Aur woh bhi sirf 3-4 ghante ki... Plz jaldi wapas aayiyenga...

Maan: Jaldi aaounga... Accha suno... I'm leaving a driver and a car outside. Just incase you need something or want to go out you can go around. There are some good malls here or you can even go for a drive.

Geet: Mujhe akele kahin nahi jaana

Maan: Theek hai... However the car would be out only just in case you need something. Also there is a domestic help in the house. A family who takes care of the bungalow stays in the quarters just behind the garden. If you need something just let her know. Her name is Suzy. Also keep you mobile on and with you... always...

Geet (smiles): Okay

Maan is just about to leave when Geet grabs his hand.

Maan: Kya hua Geet?

She comes closer, kisses him on his cheeks says "come soon" and rushes upstairs towards the bedroom even before Maan realizing what just occurred.

Maan (smirking): Arey Geet sunoh toh!!!

Geet (shouting out): Jaldi aayiyenga!!!

Maan (thinking to himself): who would want to go now... but alas!!! and walks out...
