Presenting today's discussion thread on the Kolkata's auditions!

The best:
  • Once again, they saved the best for the last. Mohan sang with tremendous feel and passion, a complete natural yet simplistic approach..and to add, great voice modulation. He set the stage on fire and got an astounding reply in return..😃 What he does...to know that, watch this episode.
  • Indrani Bhattarcharya sang Udi main khwabon si. Absolutely astounding performance. Melodious voice, worthy of singing in an opera...some weak technical patches aside, I absolutely enjoyed it..😃

The good:
  • Pooja started off the show well and sang with great confidence though she looked nervous. Great Voice!
  • Adorable performance by "the last minute"! amazing coordination, perfectly synced girl band with lots of potential. Youth oriented.
  • Pancham band too sounded good, with a refreshingly good live performance. Singing was simple and peppy and nicely synced.
  • Tushar sang his track pretty beautifully, good performance.
  • shovon ganguly, a sweet and a neat performance, sang a romantic track, simplistic approach but a good youth oriented voice.

The bad:
  • Kashish band messed up the entire oh humdum soniyo track...the audience was not really cheering them up...and the response was just average...they showed absolutely over expressions which were not required. They did get selected but as a benefit of doubt. I didnt get what they were trying to sing...
  • Deepankar...bheege hont uske..litrelly murdered the track...the less said the better...and his expressions..kya baat..kya baat..đŸ„±

The ugly:
  • Confused contestant...sampriti ghosh..wannabe singer, actress, dancer...she COULD have had the X factor package as a concept...but she messed it completely...too much overconfidence on stage..just too hard to digest.
Once again, a great episode worth watching. 124 performers selected. They will be tested at Mumbai's recording studio and 50 percent will be eliminated. Looks like the winner takes it all, the losers standing small...besides the victory, thats a destiny...that episode will be telecast tomorrow.

Ok this has to be the ONLY audition til date where I didn't enjoy even a single person's performance
I had ALOT of hope for Kolkata and was pretty much disappointed for the "talent" we were shown
I mean shreya brought up a valid point when she was listening to the kashish group - she couldn't hear the manager sing.. she was able to point that out when there were only 3 singers in that group
What about huge groups like the 'last minute group'?? its not like they sang individually either, and there were abt what like 10 girls there? I doubt they could pinpoint who sang and who didnt sing from them just because there was a large number of people there
Imagine how many groups just slide in like that because of the besura people cruising through and having to burden the surilas for carrying their weight
I guess that's what we'll get to see tomorrow, can't wait 😃

Pancham group was refreshingly different. The band was perfectly synchronized and one could easily see that who was singing what, unlike the other groups I saw today. So, thats why this group was the best one for me. đŸ‘đŸŒ

Shovan Ganguly, a very romantic unique voice. Very impressive, enjoyed his performance a lot.

In the end, Mohan gave the perfect end to an awesome episode. Quite a power-packed yet pleasing performance. 😊

Pooja was extremely nervous, I feel see could do much better had she sung confidently. She has a great voice with brilliant range! 👏 Despite the nervousness, I thought she was pretty good!

The Last Minute group's performance was cute, IMO. That's all I'll say 😊

Indrani's voice had quite the finesse and polish required 👏 I think she had a bit of a nasal twang but it might've just been the song. Her performance overall was alright. I was quite surprised by Sonu and Shreya's judging, I thought she was quite good
😕 Anyways, maybe they saw something I didn't

I really liked the innovation in the Pancham group's singing. They chose a different scale to sing Rubaru, and started off quite well with that experimentation, but at times the flatness was quite apparent. Regardless, on the whole, they were quite good.

I didn't like the lead singer of the Kashish group. Seemed to overconfident, and his voice wasn't that special to be sounding that overconfident. Overall, the group just looked conflicted. Everyone was doing their own thing that somehow miraculously connected.

I see Dipankar's wife divorcing in the future just because he sung 'Bheege Hooth Tere' on their suhaag raat

Tushar had tremendous voice quality, with tremendous versatility and range! 👏 I was really impressed by his performance! Did anyone think he sounded like Kumar Sanu?

Sorry, but Sumpriti's expressions were hilarious! đŸ€Ł That was not the only hilarious part though. Definitely not X Factor material

Shovon had a good voice! But then again, it was quite a simple song. Overall, I thought it was quite an average performance. He also had that Bengali accent, but I think that can be worked upon in due time.

Mohan was an interesting contestant. He had his pros and cons, both of which I cannot put my finger on. However, he gained confidence as he went, and his song got better and better as it progressed!

Being a Bengali, proud to say that Kolkata was one of the better audition rounds!đŸ‘đŸŒ

Sumpriti and Dipanker were soo funny, but I did feel bad to see their disappointment!

I loved Last Minute and Pancham. They were really good, and the way they arranged their pieces was real good. I loved the harmony the Pancham group had!!! I felt I was in the recording studio. Last Minute was soo cute!!

The Udi girl was good, but I don't know why Sonu didn't like her too much, and I'm confused why did the Kashish group go forward? 😕 They were not good at all, and the lead singer was very rude!! I did not like how he insulted his group member.

Tushar did a great job on Mein Jahan Rahoon!! It's a tough song, and he did well! 😳

Mohan sang Tu Naa Jaane Aas Paas Hai Khuda sooo well! I felt that the track was playing. He came of as a little overconfident to me though, but he delivered for sure!!

Yes although I am not a Bengali , I like Bengali singers. They are one of the best.
But I also like the Punjabi Spirit. And the Pakistani ghazals.
Wonder what happened to Aneek Dhar, one of my favourites.
Looks like I love many things.😆
Wonder why Tussar chose such a tough song. Lucky he did justice.

Imo, groups are judged based on the harmonics and sometimes individual singers. The LM group while not the best did a pretty good job with mixing up the octaves in the second portion of the song. That's why they got selected I think.

I had a completely different opinion. I enjoyed almost everything in the Kolkata auditions.😆
