French wines are they worth the exorbitant prices they demand ?
French reds are well know for their complexity and rich tradition. But these days others too are being appreciated including those from South Africa, Australia, Spain, Italy, USA etc
Personally I do not believe in paying too much for a bottle. A lot is being paid for the brand and the name. Some wine investors have made good money by keeping some cheap young wines with lots of potential for higher values.
Surprisingly New Zealand some some of the best whites I think and prices are not very high like Cloudy Bay etc.

Some info on good French wine years

French Wine Vintage Tables

French wines represent for France a wonderful historical, cultural and economic legacy. The tables below will help you to identify the best years and vintages for some of the most renowned French wines like the Bordeaux and Champagne Wines.

The European laws classify wines in 2 main groups:

The French Table Wines

Made with national or European grapes and varietals, they are not submitted to quality rules.

The French Country Wines

These fine French wines generally inherit the name of the region they are produced in.

High-Quality French wine - The AOC label

These wines are made from grapes harvested from special soils. The Bordeaux area of France (Aquitaine) produces the best example of this type of wine. The wines are obtained according to strict production rules (limited production surface, limited production, minimum alcoholic degree, countryside knowledge etc).

Best French Wines in France

If it is a good idea to taste French wines within moderation, do not forget that the wine prevents heart diseases while sipped in a moderate and regular way.

Thank you for the lovely information on wines.. Basically, i have had Both french and italian wines and I can actually tell the difference that the French one is superior in quality than that of Italy.
Well, its marketing and brand's world.. Isn't it? People pay for brands and some brands are known to provide good quality. French wines are good., my opinion.

Regards
A

Men are like fine french wine.. 😆

They all start out like grapes, and it's a woman's job to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they mature into something you'd want to have dinner with...

ps... No offense to the fine DM-men...😉

I will tell you provided you tell me how exactly you manage to switch your thought processes from Torturing of suspects and criminals to Problem of Transparency in India to In search of Krishna to French wines. May be I should understand all this before I try to understand that. May be the answers that I am seeking are right in front of me. Hmm...

Well wife does property part time. But since she received some commissions for a deal she wants to buy client a bottle of red. We went looking around and guy started explaining the First Growth, Second etc of more expensive wine. Chateau Margaux, Pinot Noir etc
Frankly I would like any full bodied Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon etc of a lower price range.

I am not much if a nose person.
I drink perhaps once a month at most and that too not more than 3 glasses.

simple, K, you just need to see the invisibles!

torturing of suspects and criminals => lots of crime => lots of evil => lots of greed=> lots of corruption = > problem of transperancy => women who wear nearly nothing => krishna's many wives => search of krishna => lots of wives => lots of stress => need for intoxicants => wine => french wines.

Yes, I am an geniass.

I have not tried it.
I hope they have nice grapes there.
I remember the dark red grape juice in Banglore was very sweet and thick.
