So...Friday was a filler and today, despite all the dramatic background music, was somewhere in between a filler and a "climax" type episode. I am not going to do a scene by scene recap but today was a story of two confrontations...the Roshni - Brahma and the Roshni - Priya ones.
Roshni, Roshni, Roshni...such an aptly named character what with her wanting to shine the light on Brahma's deeds and all! š I love how she is so un-apologetically who she is...just like Brahma. šš¼ These two are a match made in heaven and without them in this show, it would fall like a pack of cards! š³ Each and every dialog given to these two today rocked and how! āļø š To say I loved it would be an understatement! Writers...take a bow! For all the times I take apart your screenplays, there are far more times when I admire what you do. šš¼ The work you are doing with RD & Brahma's characters is phenomenal. I am not a big Hindi soap watcher but from what little I do see, I have not seen such well sketched characters in any show. Brilliant work...simply brilliant. āļø
Now...coming to the two confrontations. The Roshni - Brahma one was a bit overdone and not needed. With both aware of what the other knows, there was no need to spend so much time on RD reciting all of Brahma's crimes...yet again! But...this sort of confrontation is what I have hoped would be shown between Priya & Brahma. It is such a pleasure to watch a character like RD who is smart and knows how to go up against somebody like Brahma.
Coming to the Priya - Roshni confrontation like conversation, I have mixed feelings about it too. On one hand, I loved RD's words of support but on the other, I hated Priya's arguments on why she did not want the truth to come out! What Brahma did to her is so much larger than her role as a wife or daughter-in-law. Her words did not sit well with her previous reactions either...for e.g., her discomfort about how easily Aditya accepted Brahma's lies over the khaap panchayat matter. I would have been thrilled had Priya told Roshni Devi that this was her battle to fight and that she would do so at a time of her choosing...not RD's. Its disappointing to me that a show based around the four women does not have even one of them be truly intelligent or strong. Gives me less and less faith that a homosexuality track could be handled with any degree of sensitivity or honesty or boldness! š¤
Outside of these two sequences there was that whole Uttara slipping, Vidya - Imli and Chinu - Sweety sequences. Less said the better about Uttara. I hate how blind she is to Brahma and his behavior. What ever happened to the woman who recognized Rastogi for the slimy creep he was? š³ Anyway...the Chinu - Sweety dialogs today seemed like there may be a romantic angle between the two in the future...I could live with that even if it is a rather predictable and cliched track to pursue! Lastly...Vidya - Imli and their shenanigans...yup...still painfully annoying to watch!
Overall: I would average both Friday and today between 3.5 - 4. Loved the dialogs given to Brahma & Roshni Devi! Like I said last week...Roshni Devi...Zindabad! š I will be shocked if RD is shown revealing the truth tomorrow so I am not holding out any hope for that. š¤ I think that will not come out till after Brahma has tried something with Uttara.
