KRISHNA :
I have been hearing a lot of moaning and groaning regarding the butchering of Krishna from past week and the stridency and the tone has grown in amount as the purported denouement of Pratigya drew near , it was construed as the acid test for Krishna to prove his love , his faith in Pratigya ... and May I mildly enquire why it should be so .. hasn't he proved his love often enough ..why then that each and every track turns out to be a love test .. has he failed in assuring u of his love...If one looks at Krishna's attitude , Then one can emphatically say , NO!!..Krishna, an uneducated, uncouth, bigoted , narrow minded Krishna stood by when His wife openly acknowledged that she was a captive , held overnight by a vile man, a base man .. Krishna trusted her ...and proved his love ...
When Pratigya went ahead overriding a timid Kesar and lodged a complaint against his mother, He stood by her , never ordered her to or threatened her to withdraw the complaint .. he trusted her innate sense of justice .. He proved his love then too..When Amma came and ordered her to drink foot water , Krishna did!! thereby protecting his wife's honor and preserving the dignity of his Mother ...here Krishna proved that he loved his wife but will also smilingly bear the humiliation for their sake ...
When Pratigya stood against Aman , it was only Krishna who stood by her when her whole family including her beloved Father demanded PROOF ...t'was Krishna who trusted her implicitly and thereby proved that when in need , Krishna will never desert her.He never got angry or hurt when Pratigya did not even visit him in jail cos he understood Pratigya's principles ..
..So why then has Krishna changed ?? has Krishna changed, has his love changed?/ has his obsession run dry ??..
Has Krishna changed?/...he definitely is changing ..he is not the selfish boy that he was, the Boy who demanded the playthings without any consideration for the feelings of another..He has changed , for now he has began to learn to be patient, for a guy who took enormous pleasure in beating up people and establishing his dominance, he took the verbal lashings of a low lying riff raff quite calmly and in fact forbade his cronies from teaching that rowdy any lesson ..and was not this what Pratigya wanted, a responsible, calm man who would know what is right or wrong ??..Krishna is on par to become that ... Then why this Hiccup in the form of him not believing, not rushing to defend Pratigya ??
Here again His love , which is his weakness comes into play, Amma I had always said is one sensitive woman, She can fathom the emotional workings of a person very well ...Amma quite correctly deduced that Pratigya who drove the wedge between Krishna and Thakurs will now be the bridge that will help in crossing of Krishna to their Side...So a insidious plan is launched beguiling him into thinking that Amma does love Pratigya and looks at her as her own daughter ... Ha!! the Chink in Krishna has been breached ..Now starts the poison filling ..Amma slowly starts her work , Unfortunately destiny favours Amma , which shows Pratigya making few innocent remarks which can be contrived to be against Amma , as if to boost the luck of Amma, Sajjan Singh lets loose some volleys which makes a strong impression on Krishna ... So the Clear cut Krishna who knew what he wanted , and what he loves is suddenly besieged from all sides..On one side is Amma who thinks very highly about his wife, who praises Pratigya and orders him to listen to Pratigya at every given opportunity while on the other hand is a Pratigya who supposedly is unable to tolerate Amma in their lives and is giving a hint by telling Krishna not to force Amma to make Baati Chaukka, tells his Amma that making for the hotel is strenuous and cannot be done by Amma, accusing Amma openly and in another corner is Sajjan Singh who is constantly asking his wife why he is treating Pratigya as a daughter, when she so obviously does not want Amma's interference in the Dhaba..giving a different pic wherein Pratigya comes up as a weak willed Girl while Amma is the epitome of love..Krishna is getting confused and he wants to sort it out but again that Magic word PRATIGYA is used... Amma sympathetically informs him that asking Pratigya would hurt Pratigya ... There !! Krishna has got one barrier, for whatever his anger, He cant see Pratigya hurt ... the second barrier comes when Amma implies that if Krishna were to ask, it would mean that I am carrying tales and trying to break ur marriage...So here Krishna cannot ask without revealing his source and Pratigya cannot allay his doubts cos she is unaware of them ..So Krishna bites and watches in pain and growing confusion the changing Pratigya ...
THEN THE FINAL STRAW ..
A day arrives when it is proved that a sacred pot is contaminated ... Inquiry reveals that it came from Pratigya's room ... Pratigya counter attacks and straightly incriminates Amma as the perpetrator and the reason...it is as old as the time itself... Amma is jealous and wants to separate Krishna from Pratigya and as a proof offers the burnt table... but Amma is not outdone yet .. she immediately goes on the offensive, begins the game at which she is the best..she begins her emotional blackmailing.. Amma Piteously wishes to know why Pratigya hates her so esp when Amma has always treated Pratigya like her own daughter and overcome by emotions, Amma promises Pratigya that she will go away from Pratigya's life forever ..Rushes downstairs and pours down the weapon of destruction intended to bring down curtains on KRIYA .. Amma sets herself ablaze the fire engulfs her...This action of Amma is watched in shock ..Krishna rushes in to the fire ..All his doubts and confusion cleared by what he sees as a supreme sacrifice by his Mother to prove her innocence ...what bad intentioned person will kill herself instead of killing.destroying/maiming the the accuser..in this case ..Pratigya ..for it is Pratigya's accusation which spurred Amma to do such a folly, for it was Pratigya's direct indictment that shattered Amma and forced her to take this decision ...Krishna jumps into the flame, And Amma's Son Krishna emerges ...

It says Much for the love of Krishna , that In spite of thinking that it was Pratigya's words which drove his Mother to her death, he still does not say one cold word against her nor is he able to hate her for we see him averting his eyes from her and never burning her with his hate filled eyes ..had it been other guys , Shakthi Adarsh ..they would not have lost an opportunity to beat/taunt their spouses ..But Here Krishna is reeling under his own pain, his own shock .. He is unable to look into Pratigya's eyes cos he fears that he may not find the loving, compassionate girl with whom he fell in love with..but yet his love cannot bear anyone speaking ill of her, for every time Sajjan Singh speaks ill of her , his face crumples, his eyes look down ...for he cannot defend her as sajjan Singh has told Krishna that it was Krishna's stubbornness in marrying an out of caste girl. by bringing an outsider has paved the way for his own mother's life to hang in balance..and the Son writhes in pain, and even more than that is the guilt...It is this guilt which came in the way of defending his wife and could only control his emotions by gulping down his instinctive need of protecting her, his helpless love and could only feel her pain , her bewilderment ..How it must have killed him to think that the girl he loved was indirectly responsible for the near death of his Mother ... Right Now A Son is reacting, faltering in his thinking, brain muddled, Intelligence addled and completely overwhelmed by the need to see his Mother hale and hearty , Right now a Guilty and Penitent Son resides in Krishna, One who is more worried about a mother whose life is hanging by a thread rather than a girl who is supported by her family ..It will take time for him to come out of trauma to actually process the happenings and pick out the loopholes...
Let me remind the few sensitive souls .. that this track is primarily about Krishna's naivete ...remember Pratigya clearly mentions that Krishna is Bhola Baala .. and he trusts every sweet talker..How best to teach him a lesson on wisening up, to grow up than by using the only person who would least expected to break it..His own mother, the woman who fed him, nourished him, nurtured him .. when Krishna comes to know that the woman who gave life , took his life...will he not wisen up, will he not grow up .. After all this is about the change in Krishna isn't it... the first process of raw molding of a clay called Krishna has been done, now Krishna has to be finished to perfection ...how ..it is by putting the clay in the roasting fire...that the raw clay will emerge stronger similarly By making Krishna walk through the fire pit , through the valley of loneliness ..will make a way for a stronger, wiser and individualistic Krishna ... It is a process and the Process is half done ..there will be many more trials and tribulations..lets not despair every time Krishna gives exam...lets wish him luck and watch his Growth...
