Kanchi Kaul is no longer simple

Kanchi Kaul, who plays the lead protagonist Ananya in Sony's top rated serial Ek Ladki Anjani Si is due for an all-new look in the show. Sources claim that worried about the falling ratings, the channel as well as the producers, have decided it's time to bring in some new changes and prevent the ratings from falling any further.

"I would not like to comment about the ratings, but yes, Ananya's look in the show is changing. And this is a general process every show goes through," comments a channel executive without wanting to be named. But our sources close to the show claim that Ananya, who is not rated hot in comparison to other protagonists on the telly-tube is a matter of worry for the makers, hence the change.

"You cannot make her 100 per cent glamourous, but still they are trying to spice up the look of the character," reveals the source further. Talking about her new look Kanchi says, "I love the look I sport in Ek Ladki Anjani Si. It is very trendy and young in keeping with my character and the newly acquired straight hair is just great."

She also talks about her new hair do. The notable fact out here is that so far in the serial, Kanchi has been sporting a curly look. Straightening those curls mean a complete change in her appearance.

Apart from her hair, there seems to be considerable changes in her styling which includes her dressing which had been confined to short kurtis and long skirts so far. While nobody is ready to give complete details about the make-over, we wonder how they viewers are going to react to Ananya's transformation since they consider her to be the icon of simplicity.
