Gulal was like a mother when Kesar was young.

Her marriage to Kesar was a ruse to save him from conniving relatives. And also a passport and visa to stay in that house and take care of everyone according to the vada she had given to Vasant.

Now that Kesar has grown up into a man should not change Kesar's feelings.It is like oedipus complex from Kesr's side. Gulaal seems to become weak and vulnerable for the first time. This is a bitter sweet relationship. Marriage is such a sacred ritual that it cant be used for a purpose and discarded. Even if Vasant returns, will Gulal and Kesar be able to bury their feelings once and for all? It may end like a Shakespearean tragedy with Gulal's death because of that eunuch's revenge plans. In the scuffle to save Gulal, Dushyant may end up killing the eunuch and his brother.

Gulal's death. Talli and Kesar's marriage. This may be end.

Gulal and Vasant from heaven may be blessing the new couple.

@ bold may i deny it ? kesar and gulaal never shared mother son relationship ...kesar was 12 and gulaal was near 20-22 wen they met u cant expect a girl at twenty two having a motherly feeling for a 12 year old boy certainly not ...gulaal never claimed herself as his mother infact gulaal asked kesr to be her friend wen she was finding water in talsagra...and thereafter they became good friends thats y keasr never addressed gulaal as didi or bhabhi or mother she was his friend with whom he use to share his secrets his imli and his naughty pranks...he was quite suprised when vasant married gulaal bt his prespective remain intact for him his gulaal never changed becoz she was his friend first and even gulaal was confortable with it...after vasant deadth kesar came more closer to gulaal as she was his only companion...he even vowed to take care for gulaal at vasant shradh...similarly gulaal was close to kesar she was not protecting him coz she had given any promise to vasant or so but coz she already had platonic relation with kesar ...her relationship was so deep wth kesar that t she didnt cared for tradition...she broked the tradition wen kesar was bitten by snake that time gulaal was not suppose to enter the house but she entered just to save kesar...second time she broked it to escort kesar to school wen she was not allowed to step out of house but she did as she genuinely cared for kesar...third time she broke all tradition by marrying him she had an option to marry dushyant she could marry him and could save kesar life by this she could be easily accepted in the house...but she chose kesar as he was her reason to live in the house she chosed him not to build any relation but to save her already build realtion ...how deep her love was for kesar ...that she didnt even cared about society her family ! yes she bathed him cared for him teach him but that doesnt mean she becomes her second mother do we have to name the relation always ...some relation are not named they are just felt...so is kes-gul its can only be felt they were more soulmate ...l Love is no respecter of age or practicality Neither morality nor unbashed its just love

I respect your viewpoint.

At that time, Gulaal did not marry Dushyant because she did not want marriage in the real sense that is sexual Marrying a full man like Dushyant means accepting Dushyant as sexual partner.

Many women when they enter their in laws house, have young devars who will eventually grow up into young men. But Bhabhis still consider devars as sons. that is why that term Bhabhima has come into existence. In YRKKH, we have Varsha and her young devar. Can Varsha ever think of marrying him at any point of time? There are scores of such situations.

Gulal is shown to be very particular about her promises. And she always promised Talli that Kesar would marry her.

I also believe that once a woman loves so deeply a person like Vasant, she just cant think of another person taking his place though Vasant might have died. One can live with memories.

Dushyant also loved her from the beginning and went to the extent of killing Vasant.

Love and feelings are good as long as they also ensure some sort of responsibility.

Loved your observation about the Oedipus complex, and duly noted.

Now to my two cents about the issue-

As arti has mentioned earlier the relationship between Gulaal and Kesar seems to be more like chums than a full-fledged mother-son relationship. Gulaal took care of Kesar because it was Vasant's wish that his brother attain self-fulfillment. And Gulaal was simply aiding the process, and perhaps would have been more successful than Vasant, for Kesar considers her a pal and therefore would listen to her better.In essence, their relationship is that of equals, bonded by their common love for an honourable man.

And let's face it, many of us are incorrigible romantics at heart. We often turn to television to see our deepest fantasies come true, in spite of the fact that the characters are fictional and nothing like that is going to materialize in real life. So, a girl can dream, right?😊 The romantic side of me therefore earnestly wishes that Gulaal and Kesar finally become a couple.

And the case of women marrying their brothers-in-law after the passing away of their husbands is not new. It is a common observance in many communities. Know why? It has the basest of intentions behind it-to keep money in the family.In a patrilineal society, many such practices are followed for material gains ultimately.

At the end of the day, we are all romantics at heart.

But the greatest love stories always end tragically. Laila Majnu, Devdas, Heer Ranjha, Romeo and Juliet.

Hope Gulal has a happy ending. We can see the signs. Talli trying to bridge the gap between Gulaal and Kesar. Kesar may end up professing eternal love for Gulal.

Actually, I found it quite funny. Kesar went into raptures over Gulaal's loose tresses, but he didn't notice Talli's, which were longer and much more flowing, I should say.😆

@ Rightnow why are women always the one to define relationships...is the responsibility only their's... I like the story because Gulal and Kesar have feelings for each other'. that need to be defined...I started watching this show intensely after this feelings have come up...

I think with modern urban India' where films are showing AI and homosexual love stories with honesty ...I think Gulal in its own way. 'Showing a story where young 'woman" is still hoping for love and freedom ' is age a barrier! ? she is young right???!!!

Responsibility you talk. About'. well! This character has carried the responsibility on her shoulders for while ..., she is mother at 18?!! just because she is friends with her devar aka.her brother in law!!!..bhabhima is Hindi movie "melodrama word!" Please do make her his mother! she is his friend and thats how it was develeped throughout by the makers...

In many culture it is the bhabhi, become the wife when her husband dies, ek chaddar maili si! Was story based on that! Remember! it was to keep the wealth and and the generation going...

Anyway, as modern woman I think we should start watching and supporting these stories... where a young woman falls in love and the age is no barrier... Astitva was show that spoke about it... long time ago...

Also Shakespeare always promoted various such relationships! Lady Macbeth was elder than Macbeth; also Hamlet ' was in love with his step mother!... In Titus Andronicus the sexuality of the siblings and parent in very evident'which is not in Gulal!

I think someone wrote in this forum Gulal is Rukmini'aka. Lakshmi and if you remember Lakshmi is supposed to be always be with Vishnu aka' Krishna and Rukmini! Radha is the friend like Tally!

There is nothing wrong if bhabhi and devar fall in love and marry when they do it at a certain common age, some years more or less, but belonging to the same age group. In this case, Kesar was shown as a child in the beginning when gulal entered with Vasant. And at that time, she must have nurtured motherly or sisterly feelings towards Kesar. Like the film Lamhe where a child of Sridevi starts loving Anil Kapoor. Which was rejected at the box office.

You must be referring to Astitva Ek Prem Kahani which is one of my most favourite serials. Simran suffered when an younger woman entered the husband's life and simran's life went haywire.

Gulal at such an young age showed so much maturity and responsibility. But now she is at cross roads. It is not simply loving an younger man which by itself is not disputable. Our Sachin Tendulkar himself is a shining example. And Nargis sunil dutt, Ash and Abhi all of them are celebrities and make it easy for many to take decisions.

Gulal must first gather courage to express her feelings. For that first her burden of Talli's feelings must be taken care of by Talli herself. When everything is settled, What will happen if Vasant returns at the wrong time How Motaba will take all these things??
