Geet's dark night of the soul

In everyone's lives comes at least one dark night of the soul, when there is darkness everywhere and all one can see is one's own self and nothing else. Because looking at oneself is the only way one can come out of the darkenss and to see the light beyond and learn to live one's life and to deal with what life gives us.
This is Geet's night of darkness and the time has come for her to see herself and her life. So much has happened in such a short space of time that there are a number of things she must do. She's had to change from an innocent girl to a wife for a day and then to a victim of fraud and then of betrayal from her own family, to an independent woman in the city, then to a woman falling in love and then becoming a wife- that is a tremendous journey for anyone, let alone someone so young. No wonder she's in such anguish.

First, Geet needs to grieve, really grieve for herself: She needs to cry and grieve for the
--- the loss of the innocent, trusting girl that she was- that girl is no more. She never let herself grieve for that girl, she must
--- the way she was betrayed and spearated from her parents,. She's missed them dreadfully but never admitted it, and even now after the reconcialiation, her relationship with them is not the same as it was despite all that daarji says. She knows what he did to her, how can she forget it despite her love for him.
--- for the child that she lost. The child gave her the strength, courage and reason to walk out of her parents' home and to face life on her own. It gave her the strenght to face all that NT and Sasha had to throw at her, even Maan unwittingly was harsh to her in the initial days. She was so brave, but she needs to grieve for the hurt that she suffered then.

Geet must mourn and cry for all those losses.

Then she needs to start looking at her relationship with Maan. This is the first time she's on her own, all these days she's ben swamped by his love for her and hers for him. This is her stepping back moment, to see the love she has for him. There has always been an undertone of obligation in this relationship depsite Maan giving her the assurance that there is none- in fact it is this underlying sense of obligation that reared its ugly head when maan uttered those harsh words. he said them in anger, but she understood them in this sense, hence her response to what he said.
Though he has asured her in actions and words that there is no obligation, but this is something that she has not felt for herself, so now she needs to look at the whole relationship from the beginning and realise for herself that there is no obligation, that their love is beyond all that.
She needs to understand what Maan means to her. Maan has told her or is telling her in his letter what he feels for her and what she means to him, now she must decide what he means to her. She loves him, but she needs to understand what this love means to her. She needs to allow this love to come out and learn to trust it.

Then, I hope having calmed down ( a good cry always does that), I hope she thinks about the last week when maan came in as ballu and think about the bashing that he gave Lucky and laugh her head off. Hope she's able to release all her grief and the anguish of the past in that laughter.

As for Maan, who himself has made a painful journey from a morose, withdrawn soul to one who's willing to do anything for his lady love, well I'm glad he's decided to give her the space to think while telling her what she means to him. He had his dark night of the soul when she slapped him for misbehaving during the IP days. Notice how he changed after that, when he realised that he had to change.

I hope he too sits down (with her dupatta wrapped around- that'll get him thinking! ha,ha) and has a good think about why she behaved the way she did and to see how he can envelope her in his love, but also allow her to spread her wings. What I would love for him to do would be to insist, once the dust has settled, that she gets an education and a career. for that is the best way to erase the undertones of obligation that have coloured this relationship,
Maan, let your Geet fly, she'll do you proud.

And before you do anything else, Geet and Maan, allow yourself to enjoy the hilarity of the moment when Lucky tumbled out of the room all bashed up by Maan. And then have a proper conversation. they need to cry and laugh at all that they've gone through together and apart.

But alas, this is a soap on Indian TV, I'm not sure what they will show, so I imagine they'll just get him back in a day and then all will be hunky dory in 10 mins and the audience will be given its daily fix of meaningless romance- silly shots of the lips with orange flecks and globes floating across or M cupping his palm along the side of her face barely allowing his finger tips to touch her temples!!

I really miss seeing sensible posts like the one above on the Geet forum.

The negativity over the last few days almost put me off from visiting the forum but it's so good to see a post that analyses the entire situation so beautifully and doesn't blame Geet for everything.👏

I can't wait for the episode where Geet pours out everything! The episode where Geet tells Maan how lonely she feels now that her little one is no more. Where she cries her eyes out and tells him how she felt to lose the only thing that was keeping her alive. She fought against the entire world, against her family and her friends, she gave up her entire life in HP, fought against death and would have gladly fought against her so-called husband Dev and maybe even Maan had he come in the way of her and her child and in a few moments she lost the thing that meant the entire world to her. I want Maan to console her and tell her that they'll get through it together and he'll be there for her..through thick and thin.

I adore the love between the two but Geet should never feel like she is inferior than Maan solely because she is a woman and he had helped her out and saved her life. She became that brave woman herself, she made the decision to become a strong woman and she has Maan to thank for helping her along the way but she should never have to feel obligated to him.

I can totally imagine a scene where Maan and Geet are sat together letting all their emotions out with a teary eyed Geet and then laughing about how Maan beat up Lucky.😆Let's see how the CV's portray the scene though, I really hope they don't disappoint because we've had to wait what feels like a very long time for their reunion.

I love the idea of allowing Geet to 'spread her wings'. A bit of freedom with all the right intentions can never be a bad thing. :)

Btw, I LOVED your last paragraph..it totally cracked me up🤣
I am SICK and TIRED of seeing Maan cup Geet's face while he continues to stare at her lips and make no moves whatsoever. Hell, even Geet dressed up in a red dress, trying to seduce him..he should do at least something!! Maybe take her back to the cottage?😛
I want some PROPER romance please!! If shows like Odhani on Star One can show romance then I don't see why we can't get proper romantic scenes in Geet?

Gosh, this post turned out way longer than intended!😳

Thank you for your comments. Yes, as you say geet has been through a lot and I must admit I have been very critical fo the Cvs for the way they have depicted her in the last few weeks.
I sincerely hope they allow geet to speak up and tell Maan he thoughts, her feeling, fears and hopes.
Let's see. It will be really good to see them back together after all they've been through ( and we as viewers, who've suffered equally!).

Whenever you are down
Remember I am here
Hoping to lift spirits
With loving cheer

In the good times or bad
Love always remains
With forever bonds
My heart contains

Here if ever you need me
I want to let you know
Seeds of love
Continue to grow

Its the bright rays of hope
You shall come to see
Nothing will replace
our love

Promises are guaranteed
No matter how far apart
I will keep you always
Close to my heart.

I really loved your post. It is sooo true.
I actually wanted Geet to go away after what Maan said to her, he was really rude. I have been watching past episodes and in the epi of "kehna hi kiya" she said about him 'unki har achhi ya bhuri baat mere dil ko chhuk jati hai; isiliye woh jab aas paas hote hai to meri dharkane tez hoja ti hai' and it is true until now, no wonder she runs away from him every time.
In that epi he literally said he doesnt like anyone to be rude to her but he can! but that is not right, he has to control himself
And now you can see Maan controlling his anger and it is about time he did. Loving is one thing but there is no need for hurtful words coz these words would never be forgotten and would rear its ugly head no matter how much you try to forget.

@hookedongeet

Actually Maan too has had to go through an enormous transformation in a short period to time. He had closed himslef to everything except his work, his love for his dadi, brother and sister. So when love came to him, it him hard. Love demanded things of him that he had never ever considered.

While he was still dealing with falling in love and opening himself up to someone else, he also had to deal with fact that his love came with this painful past in which his own brother was involved. So to reconcile with the fact that his own brother has beteryed him and his love in this manner is not easy. While the Cvs simply glossed the dificulty a normal man would have accepting another man's child by showing him being bowled over by the scan.

I wish they'd shown him thinking about the complications of becoming a father. But I am very glad the Cvs did show hiim accepting her past and the consequnces of the past without any hesitation- well that is Maan, but he should have reflected on it on it can understand his anger to some extent. and I cannot be harsh with him. he did after all realise that his anger had caused his love and him pain and changed himself. Look at what he has gone through sincehe realised that he'd lost Geet as a result fo his harsh words. It wasn't easy being ordered about the way he has been in the last 2 weeks!
Again the blame the Cvs for creating this artifical dichotomy between Maan's expressive love and Geet's silence.

Seems we are going to get a few more bouts of silly romance instead of any real talk from geet, how disappointing.
