I have been lucky Says telly actor Anuj Thakur in a freewheeling chat with AT Shruti Jambhekar Anuj Thakur is your guy-next-door from the capital city, who fortunately did not have to knock producers doors for a break in television. When he came to Mumbai he landed himself with a role in the show Bandhan Saat Janmon Kaaand soon he also got himself a lead role in Beendh Banunga Ghodi Chaddhunga. In Ahmedabad for the promotion of the show,Anuj sounds very enthusiastic about his career in tinseltown.I play the role of Jai who is not at all ambitious about having a career or looking after family business. His dream is only to get married to a beautiful girl and for fulfilling this dream,he keeps fasts, prays day and night to God. We ask him if he is similar to his onscreen character and pat comes the reply.Oh! I have no time for myself and my family.I have no time to have a girlfriend or be with her,so it is impossible to dream of a marriage right now. Being involved in theatre in college in Delhi,Anuj had a learning experience when he was selected for the auditions of Bandhan Saat Janmon ka.Yes! I always dreamt to become an actor. And I have been lucky enough. And later,Anuj was seen in popular shows Sukh By Chance and Kaali-Ek Agnipariksha. He is also open to reality shows and would love to take up a dancebased reality show as I enjoy dancing. It would be a good challenge as I have not taken any formal training in dance. Like all telly actors,Anuj is also aspiring for a career in Bollywood. It is every actors dream to work in movies. But,right now,I am content with my work on television. Anuj calls himself a talkative person who loves making new friends and also enjoys travelling.I have studied English Literature so I enjoy reading fiction and my favourite author is Jane Austen.Im also very fond of music and yes,Im a huge movie buff.I ensure I watch atleast one movie a day. Whenever Anuj gets time off from shooting,he packs his bags and goes to chill on the beaches of Goa.It is my favourite travel destination.Ive been there atleast 20 times in the last three years. Anujs mother lives in Ireland so he also hopes to go there someday and travel to Scotland. On his visit to the city,Anuj tells us that he finds Ahmedabad to be a lovely city but did not get much time to try out the local cuisine. But theres always a next time, he says on a parting note.
