Really nice Analysis:
But as for the veg and non-veg part...Eating non-veg in the saxena's is like a sin it is something which is not cooked at all. But the Thakurs normally cook veg food as i;m assuming dadi also eats it and it doesn;t not harm or affect anyone
When Komal is given the freedom to go out and eat non-veg then i thnk she should do that..She needs to make some sort of compromise in her life...everything can't be accordng to her
Many times we justify her because of our lack of interest in the Saxenas..but honestly from day one all she has done is create chaos in that house if Pratigya is supposed to be all respectful towards the Thakurs then so should be Komal..Although i don;t blame her it is her brought up so wtt can be done.
As for the concern part of Adharsh i honestly don't blame him..For Krsihna and Pratigya to work things out it makes sense because they both love each other...But the poor man got a wife who simply wants her needs fulfilled hardly respects him or his family..The only respect she gets now is because SS got Adharsh a better which isn't fair for Komal but still how much can one expect from Adharsh...
although if he had strong opinions and not confused one as he has now then maybe it would make sense....He is always scared to bring out his veiwpoints and the day he brings them out alot of problems will be resolved.
Thank You Stranger11 ,
Agree that Saxena's consider that eating a Non-veg is a taint on their beliefs and their custome..in fact I have seen many households having a separate utensils for preping the Non-veg [ forgetting that it is the same mouth that feeds both on veg and Non-veg ) .. ..I can even understand Dadi's reaction ... [considering that the Cv's have painted her as a bigoted, narrow minded Old Lady ] ..but the words spouting out the so called sanskaari people was a bit OTT and so was the behavior and Tone of Aarushi [esp when one contrasts it with Adarsh and Pratigya's attitude] ..Secondly ..Dadi had the self same expression when Komal was having it at the restaurant too .
Everything has not been acc to Komal, Stranger ..as long as the kitchen was united ..Komal never demanded a non-veg [ discounting the initial hostile days]..it is when the kitchen was divided and when she thought that now with the divided Kitchen , she would have the freedom to eat what she wants ..At the end of the day, Stranger , palate hungers for home cooked food and not the commercially cooked food..
The two characters of Komal and Pratigya are study in contrasts...If Komal too were all respectful and sacrificing then ..there would be no difference between her and P ..it is bec Komal is portaryed as a shrew and a straight forward, blunt speaker..People appreciate Pratigya despite her vacillating stands ..I would not blame the way she was brought up entirely..she was changing for the better when the Saxena in a typical myopic way chose to keep her out of the loope forgetting that she is a member of the family ..That set her off ..and yes this was the self same rude, overbearing arrogant girl who gracefully sought the pardon of a stubborn, unreasonable Old Woman ...The potential is there ..It is entirely dependent on Saxen'as attitude how she will change ...
The Poor Man is saddled with a wife who craves his attention, his love, his support and none of which is forthcoming ..Besides the Poor Man volunteered for the Job..so he better assume responsibilities and become the Hubby and not the Son only ....I think the problems may get magnified and lead to a blow out if Adasrh genuinely stated his opinion's..cos the Sax's only like the sound of their own principles and do not have the tolerance for any derivatives or completely different POV's
