:::Update 45:::The Change:::
Piya with a glass of water sat silently at the living room table. She was too stressed out with Abhay and Sid. The new brother she'd gotten herself attached too. She prayed with her eyes closed thinking good thoughts on Lux and Sid getting better again. She knew they'd never go back to being human. This Lycanthrope curse had taken its hold on them. How was Abhay baring up? This full moon was goin to affect him. She woshed she could be with him. She hated feeling so helpless and bound by the promise she'd given to Abhay. Piya couldn't help but think about Dhiya her cousin who seemed to hate her guts. She so didn't need anymore drama in her life. Her cousin reminded her a lot of her mother. Hell she reminded her of herself being the new girl and all. Now Misha was asking questions. Misha mustn't find out her truth. She didn't know if she could handle their rejection. Piya had become so close to the girls it was almost like they'd never been apart. Piya took another sip. Arnab spotted Piya sitting alone deep in thought. He thought this was the perfect opportunity to speak to his estranged daughter. Misha and Panchi were upstairs and no Sidharth to get in the way.
Arnab gave Piya a warm nervous smile expecting her to lash out at him-"Piya beta!"
Piya got up from her seat seething with anger at her Father-"Misha must be waiting for me. I've been here a while."
Arnab hesitantly grabbed Piya's arm sitting her back down-"Please Beta. I have to get this off my chest."
Piya glared at the man before her-"Mr Dobrial get your filthy hands off of me now. U lost your rights to order me about. I'm not your daughter."
Arnab gave Piya a helpless look feeling the brunt of Piya's fury had disturbed Arnab breaking his heart-"This is where U are wrong Piya. U are my baby girl. Don't U see how much your old man craves to hug U and take U into my arms like i do with my daughters Misha and Panchi."
Piya felt her damned tears work against her-"U are tainted Mr Dobrial. U have blood on your hands. My mothers blood. I can never forgive U for this. I can never allow U in. It would mean betraying my mother. U left her when she was at her weakest ultimately leading to her death. U never once came to take me with U when i needed U. Now that i'm grown up U want to exert your rights over me. Never. I'm reiterating the same words i said to U in the past. Leave me alone."
Arnab could feel his own eyes well up for the girl who was at the brink of breaking down in a fit of rage-"Piya this anger U have isn't healthy. It will only make U bitter."
Piya wiped away her tears-"It's too late for your concerns Mr Dobrial."
Arnab found his threshold for taking Piya's wrath slipping away-"Stop calling me Mr. Dobrial Piya. I'm your father. Let me in Piya please i beg U my child. Sugandh would never want U to behave this way."
Piya shot back-"Mom's not here Mr Dobrial. So we'll never know. I know she'd be disappointed by my behaviour but U have done this to me. Why is it so important to U that we have a father daughter relationship anyway? You've got the two daughters already so it's not like your short on them."
Arnab's voice strained with emotion-"Piya U matter to me just like Misha and Panchi. U are a Dobrial my daughter Piya."
Piya got up shaking her arm away from Arnab's grasp-"Don't U dare touch me. I'm a Jaiswal and proud to be one. U can never give me your name Mr Dobrial for fear of public backlash. Your community and the fear of the world still plays an important factor to U. I've lived a long time without a father and i'm not about to change this now."
Arnab shocked Pia by his next outburst-"U are wrong Piya. I can acknowledge U as my daughter proudly to the world."
Piya remembered Abhay's words to her to give him a chance. Why did she always give in to Abhay?-"It's very noble of U to want to do this but too little too late now. I have my own family now."
Arnab's fac grew dark-"Who the Jaiswals or Raichand's? The Jaiswals did was unforgivable Piya. If U blame me then U must blame them. The Raichands are a family with wealth but nobody know's who they are. They aren't your blood family."
Piya huffed in anger-"U only donated DNA Mr Dobrial it doesn't make U my father. The Jaiswal's are family. My mothers family to be exact. My mother had the utmost respect for her brother even in death. I could never dream to hate them now they've mended their ways. The Raichand's are my life Mr Dobrial. They accepted me for who i am despite where i came from."
Arnab tried again-"I had no right to command what U do or say Piya but please take this father's words to heart. I will always love U till the day i die beta. U have to give me a chance. I plead U to forgive me Piya please."
Piya saw the despair in his eyes making her uncomfortable. Piya found herself torn by her heart and mind-"Mr Dobrial please don't. I. i. I'm helpless. I can't. I" Piya saw Misha on the balcony upstairs.
Misha's mouth fell to the floor-"What the f***k?"
Piya ran to Misha up the stairs as she shouted out Misha's name-"Misha! Please its not how it seems Misha."
Misha was pacing around in her room as Piya ran after her-"This is not happening Birdie!"
Panchi couldn't speak. She felt her mind was jumbled up-"Too right Mish."
Piya entered the bedroom-"How much did U hear Misha?"
Misha was shell shocked but managed in a monotone-"Everything." She points to the recorder.
Piya sighed falling to the floor with her hands on her head-"U have every right to hate me Misha. And U too Panchi. I didn't mean us to get so close. I didn't even know we we're sisters till recently. Half sisters that is."
Panchi was the only one who was thinking now recovering from her state of shock-"I can't believe this. It seems so surreal. This s**t doesn't happen to people like us. Dad can't have done such a low thing to Mom because the this would mean everything we were led to believe is a lie."
Piya only managed to say a few words-"I'm so sorry i made your perfect lives shatter. I didn't mean it. If it were up to me this would still be a secret. I'm a dirty little secret. I'm filth. It's what i deserve. I don't deserve U guys in my life."
Misha scolded Piya in a stern voice-"Don't U dare belittle yourself Piya. I'll tape your mouth up if i have to. I'm not angry with U dude! I can never be angry at U Piya. Well not forever anyway. This is some deep s**t. I'm just getting over the whiplash."
Panchi huddled around Piya to the ground taking her in her arms-"This is some reunion of some sorts. I'm not mad at U Piya because i've always thought of U as a sister. How could Dad do this to us. To mum!"
Misha cuddled Piya rocking her in her arms with all three girls in floods of tears-"Look what U made me do. I hate tears. And we are all soaking in this salt water. Yuck! So how long have U known about us Piya? I want the honest truth."
Panchi went to her drawer for a fresh box of tissues-"We'll need these."
Piya told them the full story from the beginning-"Then Sid came to know and the rest is history."
Misha finally clicked-"No wonder U were so frosty with him and now U guys are so tight."
Piya shrugged her shoulders. Her voice weak-"I behaved like a b***h to him. he didn't deserve my wrath. He's the big brother i never had. Abhay's been pushing me to embrace him in my life for a few days and we'll U know Abhay. I always give in to him. i'm pleased i did though because i'd never swap Sid for anyone. U guy's are so lucky."
Misha couldn't stop repeating-"I have another sister. I knew we had this connection from way back. Only then i couldn't put a finger on it but now it all makes sense."
Panchi agreed-"Life is mystifying. It's strage how we all are linked with each other and didn't even know it. The heart knows before we knew."
Misha kissed Piya's cheeks-"This is a welcoming kiss from one sister to another."
Panchi kissed Piya's other cheek-"Ditto. Now U know you'll never be alone with us by your side as sisters."
Misha's face grew glum at the sudden memory of her Father's heartbreak-"Piya i know what Dad did was unforgivable but U can't hold a grudge forever. I mean right now i should be ranting and raving in typical Misha style at him but i can't Piya. He's my Dad. He's a broken man downstairs. None of us have ever seen him like this. Panchi Dad is completely beside himself. He's in tears. Dad never cries unless...."
Panchi was still upset at her Father's betrayal-"Piya this is your call but Piya please don't do this to him. He clearly loves U a lot."
Misha started recollecting old moments when her father used to be lost on a particular day-"Piya i know this is a big ask but find it in your heart to forgive him please."
The tomb
Abhay had felt Piya's anguish mentally he wished he could be right there with her but couldn't not this night. The thought of her made him hunger for her. in over 500 years Abhay had never gotten used to craving for blood. It burnt his throat expecially on a night like this. The old ones used to say it was because vegetarian vampires were starving themselves of nutrients from human blood which is why on a full moon their animalistic needs came to the forefront.being around a human would result in devastating consequences one Abhay would rather not think about. He'd blacked out the fateful night when he blew caution to the wind. Thank goodness Piya wasn't around then. It didn't ease his guilt for killing an innocent woman but it taught him a valuable lesson. Alway's stick to the vampire rules. It was the only thing they had to be in control. Right now he was struggling to keep Lux in control. He was getting the rough end oof the deal being a hybrid had a consequence of its own. They hadn't realized the full brunt of it till now. Abhay despised himself for being unable to help Lux and Sid. The girls were putting a brave face on but he could tell they were at war with themselves unable to do anything.
Lux wanted to tear out his skin. The agony was unbearable. He couldn't contain the rage within him from surfacing. He tried so hard to keep it reined in to protect his sisters. Right now he was at his lowest ebb. How could he get himself to morph out superfast? He's ribs cracked one by one as his body contorted violently. He was grateful Abhay was around to stop him from slamming into the dam tomb. His arms burned as his hands began to bleed. His screams echoed back to him playing back to him mercilessly taunting him. His brains felt like they'd burst out of its skull and his heart ponded in his ears so loud he felt like he was going deaf. The heart beats of his sisters made him want to rip them out and stop teasing him. this was too much he thought he'd die. His body vibrated frantically in hysterical fits. He could feel the hairs start to grow. Lux kept the image of his sister safely tucked in his mind. She was his soul and his strength. Through this ordeal only she was the one person he connected on a spiritual level.
Sidhart Dobrial couldn't take this combustible sensation. If only it burnt his nerves off. The cries of pain he'd wish on nobody was excruciating as he'd felt darkness around him blinding him of sight. All that remained was the heightened smell and the hearing of two heartbeats. He could almost taste their blood pumping deliciously. The sweat dripped all over his body while he contorted shifting his muscle mass and bones sounded revolting. Sid daren't watch Lux transform for fear of his own sanity. It was all he had. He tried holding on to the memories of his loved ones with little effect. Why couldn't he picture them in his head? Sid finally knew why this was a curse.
Lux tried to undo the shackles with all his might-"Get the hell out" He screams in between his struggle.
Abhay pins Lux down with force-"I got U. U won't escape Lux. I got U."
Lux moves forward pulling the chains with him-"I...don't.....I.....can't....hurt....them......"With a pause and a shriek. Lux's sweaty body convulsing while Abhay keeps a hold of him.
Abhay knew what Lux meant alright. Lux was stronger than him. He had the strength of a few vampires-"Restrain yourself Lux. Don't exert yourself. Fight for control. Try to hold back so the girls are safe."
Lux howled in sheer pain-"I...I'M.....Trying........It....hurts."
Sid gritted his teeth also pulling forwards-"I.....wish......this.....would ......be.....over." He clawed the sides of the tomb with his bare hands. Trying to claw his way out.
Chand kept Sid in place-"Newborns are so strong. Lux has the worst of it being a hybrid. Haseena U must help Abhay. We don't know what he can do yet?"
Haseena secures Lux back hissing at the brute force-"Bloody hell Abhay. I can't believe how strong this one is. U could've gotten injured."
Abhay moans-"This isn't the time mother. Just hold him still."
Haseena growls-"Lux is too powerfull."
Lux slams his body back fighting for control. His bones warp into a weird shape-"Aaaagggghhh."
Lexie couldn't handle watching her brother. Her life being torn into obscurity. She closed her eyes bringing 2 small orbs she'd had in her pocket to practice ripping souls out. She began chanting muttering under her breath so only Abhay and the vampires can hear her incantation-"Hecate your daughter commands the powers within me to pull the souls of the cursed one in this orb till they return to their natural state." The sky begins to make a thunderous sound as the light from both Sid and Lux rushes out of their bodies into the orbs.
Pari watched in awe rushing to Lexie-"What have U done Lexie? This will only drive U further into darkness. Good magic is the only way."
Lexie's dark veins began to fade away clutching the orbs in her hands-"I did what i had to."
Abhay was too busy dealing with Lux to scold Lexie. If he we're in her place he'd have done the same thing-"Pari leave her alone. She's exhausted her strength using such a spell weakens her mentally."
Pari protested-"It's not right. We could lose her."
Lexie defended her action-"I refuse to watch them in agony. This is soul wrenching. They don't deserve this. Nobody does." Lexie burst into tears. "Do U think i can watch him cry out screaming his lungs out? He's my twin damn it. I feel everything he does. Our connection isn't broken. He and i are spiritually connected. I can't do this."
Abhay reveals-"The screams have died down."The bodies continue to twist into the werewolf shape-"Their souls are no longer suffering. Now its the animal inside them. We can contain it."
Lexie averts her eyes away from her brother-"We should have done this earlier. It would have saved them from this anguish."
Pari confounded in Lexie's lax attitude to magic-"Magic isn't a fix Lexie."
Lexie hit back-"Then what is? Whats the point of having powers if U can't use them to help people?"
Haseena stepped away from the animal form of Lux-"This isn't the place to squabble girls. We have to babysit Lux and Sid. Make sure they are chained down securely."
Abhay growled along with Haseena and Chand at their own thirst. He pulled away from Lux to maintain a safe distance-"The transformation is over. We can't leave till they turn back."
Chand moved away from Sid-"They are resilient little creatures. We must camp out here. Girls it is safe for U to leave. We'll take watch."
Haseena didn't know how to comfort the worn out girls-"Just go home."
Lexie refused to budge-"Na uh. I'm staying put till he wakes up. I have to weaken them in animal form with a spell. If that's fine by Pari?"
Pari nodded-"We'll do it together."
Together both Pari and Lexie weaken the animal form of Sid and Lux.
Abhay rushed to Lexie holding her in his arms-"Fine but U are taking a nap here. We need U fighting fit. The spell you've cast needs your full alertness." Abhay caress's Lexie in his arms. Stroking her back as if she were a small child. "Please listen to me Lexie. U know i'm right."
Lexie let Abhay comfort her. she let her guard down allowing herself to calm down-"You'll wake me when they turn back?" Her eyes pleaded with Abhay's.
Abhay gave Lexie a warm smile-"U have my word. Now sleep. Pari U need to conserve your energies too. We need U both. With Maya and Danish on the loose anything goes."
Pari understood Abhay's plight-"OK. First sign of trouble U have to call us."
Haseena smoothly states-"We will. U gurls take a breather."
Chand chides happily-"We've got Sid in check. He's not so tough in animal form. He's already worn himself out. See!!!"
Lexie and Pari lay their head on Abhay's lap closing their eyes. Both girls found solace in Abhay's care. He stroke their hair while staring into the werewolves eyes. Listening to their breathing was surreal. Abhay hushed the girls to relax eventually letting them drift off peacefully. The night was passing by but the sound of the screams still echoed the tomb. The cries had done some damage to Abhay's hearing because he was still reeling from this nightmare. How would they come back from this? Would they ever find normality? Nothing about this night was normal. They weren't normal.
