Is Varsha suffering from postnatal depression?

Varsha seems to be finding it fairly hard to adjust to motherhood, and seems to be feeling low in general. I guess she's suffering from post-natal depression. If so, then it's a good thing that this issue is being addressed on the show, as in general, despite being pretty common in real life, it often does not get addressed in films/television.

yeah i think she is, its not like the girl who was doing everything even before anyone ask her remember her new bahu time?? and how she cure her saasu's self esteem, and now that not only she is over whelmed byt mother hood but she have not sit in the exams, spend any alone time with her husband, or even her mother, so its good that its brought out here, atleast she is asking other ppl in the house to watch the baby when she wants to get out of the house, even if its not PND she should not be critisized for wanting some alone time.

I agree, I hope they should discuss this issue and not in a negative way coz with this serial you never know they might just show it as bad parenting. Also, I think shaurya is being really insensitive towards her, I mean he should take her out like for an hour or something and not make faces when she gives the baby to someone else in the house. But i am glad there are so many people in the house to take care of the baby when she is going through this. She was very happy about going to her mom's house because she probably needs that change of environment

Yeah, I really hope that it is not portrayed in a negative light, as it is a common issue that several women have to deal with post childbirth.

right...it's very common but it's very easy if u have ur family by ur side...like varsha never called rajshri when the baby was crying but rajshri came herself...in a joint family , the child gets a better atmosphere , with grandparents and cousins around..i think he becomes more social ..the burden of raising the child is divided, the mother is free to do other stuff...varsha should not be suffering from PND bec. everyone is always ready to help her.. 2 maids, cousins, her MIL, kaki....however she should not take undue advantage...others also have their plans which r equally important 😛 varsha is a smart girl..bacha is a full time job n it gets extremely difficult to balance everything ... for min. 2 years, the baby needs his mom so he's the top priority! the mother doesn;t get free time but she'll have to find some..😊

i understand completely, there r so many things that the girl wants to do, bec. she's been deprived for many months...like eating out or movies or spending time with hubby ..but she should take sometime to settle down...saari zindagi padi hai, u can do it anytime...but listen to ur MIL bec. she knows it better when is the right time ...the mother should have very light food when she's feeding bec. it affects the baby adversely...with colic, the baby is irritable..if she'll go out then obviously she'll feel like eating junk food......then, for minimum 40 days or 2 months, she should take proper rest..SRK can wait but if health is neglected at this time, then she'll suffer throughout her life ! and in the end, do what varsha is doing..spend a month or two with ur mom 😆 the best stress buster and best method to fight PND but Varsha is not so lucky ..Rajshri will call her back

I think you are right. They seem to be building up Varsha's frustration gradually which is a good thing. I do sense her disappointment in little things.. Let's see how they move this track forward.

charu you are right about the joint family, even couples raising kids in citys do get some help i remember i use to run and pick up our tennets baby, and -play with her while her mum was doing house work and also she would ask my mum or other ladys in the house when i am at school, but thats when mothers are at risk of PND, as everyone is advising how to do what, and first time mothers can get over whelmed, and since she is the only child she have not seen, children raised like skshra has, and of course junk food is a nono in anyone's life nursing or not, but going out for walk with yr husband for 20mins is best not only fresh air can help but chnge of atmosphere is good for mother,
But has any one think its realy weird that she left the baby with MIL to go to maika, dont she think her mom would like to see her granddaughter, and if she is away for couple of hrs baby will need the feed as she is still nursing i think.
hope she is not realy depressed and planing something stupid.

Highly unlikely, she isn't an ideal candidate; even if she has hormonal issues she has a complete support system. PND mostly happens when there is a lack of support system; you have no help with the baby, sleepless nights, weak body & no social life. It's a good track to explore they may try it w/Akshara coz she is the one who is always crying in the show. Varsh's life has been rosy.😊

In Varsha's case, I think she is unable to bond with the child; it takes time for some to get used to the new responsibility. It will take time for it to sink in, tabi bolthe hai na ki maa ka hona bahut zaroori hai after child birth coz maa is the only one who will understand the daughter in such a situation & is willing to put up with her moods.

Rajsri has been really good w/Varsha's pregnancy mood swings; like yest she didn't mind Varsha's attitude coz I think she understands. Rajsri has been a good saas almost unreal; all saas should take a tip or 2 from her. almost forgot, bahu's can take tips from Akshara too but in moderate doses pls....
