In the bedroom, Vibha tells Rohini that she has brought good news, and to take rest. She goes down to prepare a drink for her. Rohini is in a deep reverie. Vibha then goes to her bedroom and takes some heirlooms from her cupboard, and picks old clothese of Sanket, which she made a s a baby, and kept all this time for her grand child, and is all excited, but her husband calms her down, and says, first to consult the doctor before getting all worked up. Naina comes home and meets Ayee, in the bedroom, and asks her what to wear the next day for Holi, and she tells her that anything will suit her. Naina notices that Ayee is all excited, and asks what has made her happy. She tells her, and then her husband tells Naina to keep the news to herself, till the doctor tells them the correct news. Naina tells Ayee, that her Chintu also says the same, that without proof not to come to any conclusion.
The next day, the women, have spent in preparation for the evening celebration of Holi. Daksh and the menfolk, are busy preparing the holi bonfire, in the courtyard. Naina too joins them in putting the wooden logs, and Daksh helps as her hand has been bruised. The the decorations are set up. Mr Damodar Patwardan gives them directions.
In the bedroom, Ayee gives Rohini a beautiful saree to wear for the function, but she is a little depressed, but Ayee bolsters her confidence. The mother tells her that she is going to be a mother too. Sanket comes to remind his wife to hurry up, and she tells him she will be down shortly.
The aarti thalis are ready, and they are all dressed up, and as evening shadows fall, they all get round the Holi bonfire, and ready with the ceremonies that are done in Mumbai,
and have been done from generation to generation. The ceremony is imbued with spiritual significance which is brought out very delicately and beautifully in this serial, which is very different from what other serials have done. There is greater emphasis on the spiritual meaning of this festival, and the deep message that is conveyed in it. The whole family is gathered and offers their prayers. With a devout spirit the whole family offers their prayers, by offering flowers, coconut and other objects of veneration, while those around join with joyful smiles on their face. The father of the family, then pours the sacred water round the holi fire, and sets it alight with the flame.
When the prayers are finished, the whole family squats on mats round the fire, and talks
of the old days, when as young kids, they used to celebrate it. Then Ayee is asked to sing a song, which she does and all are impressed by her beautiful and vibrant voice.
Naina asks the father, if they will play holi the following day, and he tells her, being a girl from the North not familiar with the customs of Maharashtra, that this "Gulal Ka Tikka" or the rid marker that is put on the foreheads, is a sign of a blessing. They will have fund the next day, but Daksh does not join it for his own reasons.
In the end, they get ready to go home and Daksh and Naina are alone, and he offers his apologies to her, and she too tells him the same. Daksh apparently does not like the playing of the colors of holi, but Naina is reminded of her childhood when she played it with her father. This is a poignant moment when she recalls her childhood and gets an insight into what the adults do has its roots in childhood... Daksh invites Sushant to come over the next day for playing the Holi, but he tells him that he will not be playing it.
At home Naina goes to help Vibha in the kitchen, and then she remembers that the glasses are left out, and she asks Naina to bring them, and she goes to the courtyard to bring them. Just them Daksh telephones Lekha and assures her of his help, and Naina listens, and as he turns his head, he sees her and ends his telephone call. Naina is itching to find out what is going on between Daksh and Lekha. She remembers the day some days ago, when Daksh took Lekha to the Life Care Nursing Home. Why did they go there? All these thoughts gnaw her mind.
