Vedant and Akriti plan to paint Daksh;s face while he is sleeping. While Vedant keeps guard, the sister, paints a mustache on her cousin's sleeping face. They feel amused, and then Vedant reminds her to set the alarm clock and they keep it next to his pillow. They leave the room as quietly, as they had entered.
In the kitchen, Ayee and her sister in law, Shyamal, prepare the items for the day's celebrations. They are expecting many guests. Shyamal reminds her that they have to prepare the thali of gulal, and she tells her that Naina has been given the charge to prepare it. A little later, Sanket arrives in the kitchen and wishes them, "Happy Holi, Ayee and Kaki." He informs them that he has invited his friends from the office, and hopes they will enjoy. Mother assures him. She recounts all the sweets and snacks she has prepared. Sanket smiles. He leaves saying he is going to bring Rohini and tells her she is feeling a little low. Shyamal reminds her about the Badam Kheer, and is told it is ready, and just then the alarm rings in Daksh's room, and the ladies are all smiles, and Shyamal reminds her that this is the work of Vedant and Akriti, which they have been doing every year.
Daksh rushes into the kitchen saying what they did was wrong, and asks who put the alarm in his room, and they look at his face, and start laughing, and he does not know why. The mother tells him it is good he is up, and she will prepare his coffee and tells him to go, brush his teeth, and come for breakfast. The ladies are still laughing, and he asks, them whether he is looking like a cartoon They tell him, that he looks like Ravan. He touches his face, and sees black paint on his fingers. He goes to the bathroom and sees his face, and shouts "I know who has done it, Akriti, Vedant !" the women, laugh and say, the holi has started.
He chases them in the courtyard, and round and round they run, and finally Daksh knocks Naina down, and falls on her, and they look at each other in astonishment, but
Naina does not mind it. Quite some time passes, each other are having thoughts of the days which have preceded, with all the ups and downs in their relationship. Vedant and Akriti are busy in their own world. Eventually, Daksh helps Naina to get up and as Naina sees her clothes stained, she asks him, what this is. He abruptly says, "Happy Holi", and offers his hand She too wishes him, saying, "To you too, 'holi mubarak'" and Daksh looks down, at his stained kurta. Naina says, "Sorry" and Vedant comes up and says, why to be sorry, as it is holi today. Akriti too joins and says, "Do not be offended, it is holi8" and she sprays colored water on Daksh with her Sprayer. Kaka Shridar watches them from afar. As he comes closer, some of the water spray falls on his kurta too and his children are frozen with fear. He scolds them, "How did you find courage to take this sprayer? I had told you that you can play holi only with gulal." Akriti asks for forgiveness, and Daksh tries to intervene, and he tells him not to show his advocacy here. And then he starts laughing and making every one at ease. He asks Daksh if he has seen his own face, and he smiles. Ayee then comes and applies the tikka on Kaka's forehead and tells him not to be annoyed, as today is the festival of holi. His brother too applies the mark on his forehead, and smiles and the younger brother too, applies the same on his elder brother's forehead. All wish each other, "Happy Holi."
In the fun filled environment, all apply gulal to one another, and Naina applies color on Vedant's cheeks, and tell him, how smart he looks, and he likes his father, intones his favorite style, in a sing song "Wo tho mein hoooon !" and his father mutters, "Cartoon No. 2" - he admits he is Cartoon No. 1.
Daksh washes his face, and Ayee goes to call Sanket and Rohini. In the bedroom Sanket is walking up and down, and then Rohini comes out and tells him that she took the pregnancy test, and it is positive. He is very happy but she is depressed. Then Ayee comes and he wants to tell her the good news, but Rohini holds back his hand, and stops him, and he stares at her. Rohini sends Ayee away, telling her that she and Sanket will come down soon, and she just stares at him.
In the courtyard, all are making merry, with holi festivities. Akriti takes hold of Daksh's hand and takes him to Naina and tells him to apply color on her cheeks, and he dips his fingers in the tray, and gently applies the color on her cheeks. He asks her if she is o.k. and she tells him, that all is fine, and they she looks at him, and he puts his head down. She takes the gulal thali, and goes to Shridar Kaka, and applies color on his cheeks, wishing him a happy holi. He then looks around and tells his children to go home, and Vedant tells him he has to go to his friend's house to study. they go up. Naina understands his trick, and smiles. Kaka too wants to leave, and Naina tries to make his stay, but he is adamant.
Sushant drunk with bhang comes with Lekha, and all are excited and happy. Ayee goes to meet them and invite them into their house. Lekha has prepared some cold drinks for the party, and she tells Sushant has already drunk and come. Daksh admonishes him and he says, one day in a year, for holi if they drink, what harm is there. Daksh tells him, that if he does not know how to handle it, then it is better he should not drink it at all. He argues with him, saying that his best friend and his wife think the same way, and Naina watches them and tries to make her conclusions about their friendship.
More guests arrive, and among them Akul and Seema too have come. Ayee invites them and tells Rohini to take care of them.
Naina sees, that Akriti is looking out of her window, and her father has rudely prevented her from joining the others, so she thinks of a scheme to get her father change his mind. She goes to Akriti and tells her that their colleagues have come to the party, and their boss is hiding in the room, This can not be allowed. Naina sees that her father is listening to them so she tells her loudly, "I will have to demote you, to ordinary worker, as you can not handle your responsibility. Hope you understand." She knows the arrow has it the target, standing outside the door.
In the preview of the next day, Lekha tries to feed Daksh and Naina watches from a distance.
