Shruti to host Bollywood Cutting By: Vickey Lalwani April 22, 2006
Shruti Seth
From April 22, Shruti Seth will replace Suresh Menon in SaharaOne's weekly show, N G Takes (Not Good Takes), now rechristened Bollywood Cutting.
"The show is all about trivia in Hindi films, about how actors goof up their lines and crack up during the making of a film," says Shruti. "I am a movie buff and love seeing all the stuff that is not shown on screen, especially when it comes to well known films."
Short 'n' sweet
Shruti will be shooting just two days a month for Bollywood Cutting. "As it is a weekly, my two days of shooting will help can all four episodes required in the month. I have shot two days and canned Main Hoon Na, Chalte Chalte, Masti and Aankhen."
Outgoing host Suresh Menon was clueless about the changes. "I have no clue about what they are doing on the show. I have not been not informed that I am out.
Shruti's entry is news to me. Frankly, I was sceptical about working for Deepti Bhatnagar, because she is known more for her travel shows.
Concept interesting laga is liye kar liya, but now I wish they hadn't wasted my time," he complains.
Girl wanted
"The channel wanted a female anchor," explains Bhatnagar. "A young girl's recall value is more. We now have a more stylised version now. Earlier, there was a lot of humour, and perhaps then, Suresh Menon suited the show perfectly."
